Adaptive cruise and Lane Centering are foundational. Or put another way, Bluecruise sits on top of it.

So if Bluecruise never engaged, or wasn't renewed, Adaptive Cruise and Lane Centering would still be functional. They aren't subscription based.
I’m a little confused. newdeal99 says his truck beeps at him on non Bluecruise mapped routes. If you are using adaptive cruise,do you still get the eyes on the road warning?
So bluecruise is technically only hands free on certain roads. However once you update to enable it then it will beep at you to keep your eyes on the road even un non bluecruise roads that are just using lane centring in addition to beeping at you to keep your hands on the wheel. You can't turn this off, and you can't turn blue cruise off without turning off lane centring completely. So basically it just introduces one more irritating thing to beep at you while you are driving and so I hate it as I rarely drive on any bluecruise enabled roads
Just so I’m clear on this, are you able to use just adaptive cruise on non mapped routes, or, when you engage adaptive cruise does Bluecruise automatically engage?
I don’t drive many mapped routes in Wyoming.

Once bluecruise is installed and active via software update (if you had a job 1 truck with the prep pack that needed an update to enable it like I did) then it will tell you blue cruise is on every time that you set adaptive cruise with lane centring. The difference is that only on mapped roads will the dash turn blue and it tell you you can go hands free. However even when you can't be hands free and are just using cruise and lane centring it will beep at you both to keep your hands on the wheel AND to keep your eyes on the road. Prior to enabling blue cruise via the software update it would only beep at you to keep your hands on the wheel and the eye sensors weren't active. After enabling blue cruise via the software update the eye sensors are active whether you are on a mapped road or not every time you engage cruise and have lane centring on.

So basically on non mapped roads after the update to enable blue cruise every time you have lane centring on even if you are holding the wheel if you glance away from the road for a few seconds, or if you have glasses and there is glare, or if your eyes are squinting, it will beep at you to keep your eyes on the road whether you are holding the wheel or not and no matter if the road is mapped or not. The only way to get away from this is to turn off lane keep assist entirely so it basically sucks and I wish I never enabled the blue cruise update

Dont forget that there is a setting in the menu to enable/disable driver Alert. If you have it enabled it will Alert even when not using Bluecruise. With it toggled off, It still Alerts when Bluecruise is active.

I went from 2.7.3 directly to 3.5.2 today and I can’t really see where anything changed. My Sync software is still at same it was before 22177 rev 473. My truck was going into deep sleep mode every time it’s not in use so I did a BMS reset earlier today and I immediately received the 3.5.2 update. Is it bad that it skipped all the others? Can you check my VIN 1FTFW1E50MFA64125
? Thanks!
It is possible that it cold present a configuration issue later down the line, but that is question better suited for @Jesse-Infotainment to answer as it goes well beyond my scope of knowledge.

That's not what that setting does. There is no way to turn the driver monitor alerts off (except not using BlueCruise or Adaptive Cruise w/ lane centering).

WHAT IS DRIVER ALERT

Driver alert alerts you if it determines that you are becoming drowsy or if your driving deteriorates.

HOW DOES DRIVER ALERT WORK

Driver alert determines your alertness level based on your driving behavior in relation to the lane markings and other factors using the front windshield camera.

SWITCHING DRIVER ALERT ON AND OFF

  1. Press Features on the touchscreen.
  1. Press Driver Assistance.
  1. Switch Driver Alert on or off.
Note: The system remains on or off depending on how it was last set.

Yes. If the IPC is not fully updated it will absolutely affect the later gateway updates lie 3.5.2

It wont update the as build to be the correct config because it doesnt see the IPC being updated to the correct level.

I smell a cluster-f*ck being cooked up by Ford. Several people in the past few days are reporting getting 3.5.2 that were still back on the 2.7.3/2.7.4 IPC updates.

Pun intended.

Its been a disaster from the day they released the Blue Cruise Updates.

For whatever reason ford split the IPC update into two parts. Even in FDRS it was. Completely insane. What was happening in FDRS is whats happening in the OTA. Some guys would only get the first half. Then allowed to proceed. Some would get the FDA/FCA Update but only one or the other would install and they would have a mismatch in software.

In FDRS they finally eliminated the first half and only release the second half. So now in FDRS there is only one IPC update. Yet the issue is it is not showing for many people at all and they blow past it and onto the gateway after and then wonder why blue cruise never worked and they dont have a BlueCruise in their connected services.

Ford for some reason in the network scan has an issue with the IPC submission. My IPC data hasnt updated in forever. They black listed mine but they seem to have issues across the board with everyone.

Out of curiosity: When you help people get the IPC side-loaded, is that done with FORscan or with whatever program you have? I'm pretty sure it's the latter, but I am wondering if it's something you can teach me so I can help you with people in that situation. Based on what I am seeing in the past few days, this problem is about to multiply exponentially with 3.5.2 being pushed out to all these non-BC trucks.

Edit: I understand if it is done with your software, I cannot help.

While it’s possible Ford is mishandling this based on the ham-fisted overall software release process, I also wonder if there are problems with Blue Cruise that they are trying to avoid. Recall how it was an on again off again dealer update.

The first time it was "off" was due to the campaign expiring. Ford realized many trucks were still left behind and they reinstated the campaign. As of January 4th, they told dealers to stop doing it because of the possible issue being discussed in the past few posts. 4 months later, the program is still on hold. I assume they have not been able to address a way to fix it that doesn't involve what Jesse does to help people with this issue, because dealers can't do what he does.

Thanks for all this information, my truck just took on the 3.5.2 as my first ever OTA update and I’ve never had blue cruise or anything in between. My question is can i still get a mongoose and get it all corrected myself or am I screwed now that my truck has swallowed this update? VIN 1FTFW1E50MFA64125

I can fix anything. If you’re willing to go the mongoose route. We can fix it pretty easy.

Yes. I am willing to get a mongoose. Almost bought one a few weeks ago but held out because I knew I was in line to receive 2.7.4 but now it jumped to this new update. If you can look at my VIN 1FTFW1E50MFA64125 and tell me that I should get the mongoose, I will buy one.
