Does anyone know what the problem is that caused them to put a hold on the campaign to add BlueCruise to '21 Job 1s? Has anyone had any problem just borrowing a mongoose and doing it themself? I'm considering this route, but I don't think I heard what the issue was.
This is what PTS shows for the 21G01 campaign for Bluecruise programming. The IPC "may" not update. There are VERY rare cases where the IPC update does not appear on FDRS even after performing a network scan. When mine was stuck on 2.7.3, Jesse feared that might have been the case for my truck, but once I performed a network scan, it popped right up. The USB method failed, so I had to push the update into the module directly with the Mongoose which took 6 hours, but it worked. If that is the case and the IPC update does not show, then the IPC update has to be side-loaded which is something dealers cannot do. However, I want to say less than 99% of trucks have that problem, and Ford has a hold for 5 months on this program because of a possible issue on less than 1% of trucks. It's beyond ridiculous to me. If you follow the FDRS thread, there have been countless people with no related experience that have updated their trucks themselves here; including me.

There were tons of us who performed the infamous get-out-of-OTA-purgatory and were unaware of the reason that Ford eventually halted the program.
It's not that it was always the easiest APIM update to perform, because it could be a pesky USB challenge. But the IPC update not presenting was not considered, since it was apparently so uncommon.

Ford probably is reluctant to go through the hand-holding that program must have sucked them into. They can't even count on the techs to follow the directions on the screen to put the vehicle on a battery charger before attempting to perform the procedure.

Holy sh*t. Well, then.......I guess their hold on the program is warranted.
ITs been quite a few. It really has. A lot of guys dont make public posts and come and ask me whats up.

Ive had to help with the Cluster update since the day it was released.

That would explain why I don't know about it. I don't post much on the FDRS thread because I'm no expert there by any means, but I follow it closely.

Interesting. Thank you very much. I think I will go the mongoose route assuming they don't restart the program before my name comes up on the list.

Sorry for all the dumb questions here, but does it break anything if that update does not work, or does it mean that you just have to wait until the Ford gets their act together? Is it worth trying do on my own, or am I going to risk disabling my truck?

The IPC update not being done affects BlueCruise guys the most. If the IPC update is not done and you are allowed to proceed with hte rest of the updates the config will be an issue. It wont be correct. So you most likely will never get BlueCrusie working. It takes several modules to have teh correct config to allow BC to work. So Its a domino affect.

I have a good solid plan for guys that we had to sideload teh IPC update and it has worked out well.

Why Ford cant seem to get the IPC update to be reliable I have no idea. It seems so silly.

If you do not have Blue Cruise you can still be negatively affected by the missing IPC. You May lose lane centering and cruise control functions.

It more of an ordeal for BlueCruise trucks though.

Ford sent a letter to all '21 Job 1 owners over a year ago stating to take your truck in to get updates covered by 10/31. They then extended it, so you had roughly 9 months last year to get it updated but didn't. While it sucks you are in this situation, you brought it on yourself by processing.

Raptor owners are never officially getting BlueCruise, your truck could of it was updated. The only way you're getting refunded for the prep package is if you sell your truck and get a new one.

i never got that letter, i wanted to add a heated steering wheel to my xlt somehow i ended up with all these updates and a bad ass truck

So this makes me wonder if they are holding out BC OTA updates as well. I went from 2.7.3 to 3.5.3 today and BC is missing.

Thank you!
Your truck got the first IPC OTA and not the second one. Good news is the second Update is showing and you need to get that installed soon. That is what is causing your issues. It is exactly what I said earlier. Thre config is based off the IPC. If its not installed the rest of the updates will install with the wrong config

Interesting. @sglide05 Reported going from 2.7.x to 3.5.2 today, too.
