Update from dealer: basically, F off. Take it or leave it. (We will sell this truck either way with of without you, and most likely for much more than what you’re getting it for).

So I’m shit outta luck. In the grand scheme of things it’s just another $1500 to an 80k truck…

- first time building and buying, lesson learned.
Reviews carry a lot of weight. Take that into consideration when you get the satisfaction surveys.

Really sorry to hear it! Crazy how many dealers have this mentality but it certainly is a seller’s market. I’ve learned if you get a bad feeling from a dealer anywhere in the process, move on. I ordered out of state and 11 hrs away because I didn’t trust the local dealer, was lied to repeatedly and couldn’t get straight answers when I did get them. I have had pretty good luck finding dealers with “set pricing deals”. There is usually one in the larger markets that will be X% above or below invoice. Typically much better than those that start and MSRP and require you to negotiate.
Best of luck — but unless you’re getting a steal on the accessories maybe take that business elsewhere.

So.. question for you guys.. I originally placed my order in September for a ‘21. Signed the build sheet agreement for 78k, build then obviously moved to ‘22.

Conversions from ‘21 to ‘22 should have a $3500 incentive attached to you if it was processed correctly. (I’ve seen some responses of not getting the incentive ??‍♂ And some that were fixed after some calls). That should offset the price increase …and some … with the ‘22 when it was converted. I am to understand that when it was re-ordered, new pricing would be used. (Note: price increases on the ‘22 in December and today would not apply).

Ford released a video to dealers today and stated that vehicle visibility will not be updated until next week. My guess is the reduced shifts combined with the chip shortage is causing what we are seeing now. The video also said that Ford has quite a bit of VOW’s(vehicle on wheels a.k.a. Vehicles that have been built waiting on chips). Their goal is to get the VOW’s shipped out to dealers by the end of March/early April. They stated in the video that sold retail orders will be first to get chips and the less chips the vehicle needs the quicker it will be shipped. So hopefully we should get updates next week it looks like.

That is some good news, hope all of us will see some progress next week.

Can we assume that when Ford says "Sold Retail Orders" they mean "Custom Orders" by customers like us?

Seems a bit confusing,… there was a Platinum, Limited and Lariat from the 01/31 build week from Dearborn that slipped through the cracks and were built. How exactly are they allocating chips when there are incomplete builds from the 01/03 build week (1) still on a chip hold. I could only assume that that Platinum would need many chips to complete as well and he’s still waiting.

I stand a bit corrected. The person in the 01/03 build week is scheduled to get his truck on 02/19 now. Still there are many others waiting in line with earlier builds. Not a complaint, just trying to understand is all.

I would say they are completing the vehicles on the line 1st.

If the "Custom Orders" are shipped 1st, I would think that they only make up 10-20% of the VOWs and they would be ALL shipped by the 1st week of March.

I think you’re talking about me. :)

My truck had a blend date of 1/6, was built on 1/26, shows as built in the tracker, and ready for shipment. It just hasn’t shipped out yet and Granger says there’s no chip hold on my order. The estimated delivery date in the Fire tracker went from 2/19 to 2/21 this morning.

It’s weird.

I was wondering exactly the same thing! Somehow I think that might not be the case….but I honestly have no idea what each of the definitions mean. Retail vs Custom Order vs Dealer pre-sale of their orders, etc.
