Tracker shows shipped for me as of this morning. Progress.
Now that I look back on the tracker this could be excellent news for my order….at least one can hope. We both ordered the same day and both Lariat PBs built within a day of each other. I’m guessing the Max Tow, CCD or the onboard scales on mine require additional chips.

I’ll continue very impatiently waiting but you’ve given me some hope with this update.

I was wondering exactly the same thing! Somehow I think that might not be the case….but I honestly have no idea what each of the definitions mean. Retail vs Custom Order vs Dealer pre-sale of their orders, etc.
I do not think Ford is prioritizing retail order than Stock, my dealer has 3 stock orders with a similar blend date as mine, and all of them has been built and shipped as of yesterday, but mine still stuck in production with no updates.

Well, I think it is because our retail orders are sold unit and the money is guaranteed, it makes sense for Ford to do it this way, but sucks for us. What a shit show!

Your order will be a retail order if there is "Special Order" words on your Window sticker.

What was your Build week?
Jan-31 with a blend date of 02/04, those dealer stock orders are blend date of 01/31 and 02/03.

You will be surprised with all of current shortage situation, ford could still ship out stock orders within 10 dates after built, but leave us in the dark, Well.....

I am confident that because that week was already on the line, they shipped the trucks they could.

I would say they are completing the vehicles on the line 1st.
My thoughts exactly. Maybe they did get a supply of chips and started installing those on the line at that time.
Who really knows. I see Ford chime in for some posts on this site. Why can’t they just stop being so secretive and explain what’s happening.
Granted it may effect their shareholders but at least those consumers who are in the process of buying their products could get some form of assurance that things are progressing.
I’ve bought many Ford vehicles over the years (1st time ordering) but I have to say that this experience has left a bad taste. Being we‘re the ones buttering their bread, we should be told more. My opinion.

I think you’re talking about me. :)

My truck had a blend date of 1/6, was built on 1/26, shows as built in the tracker, and ready for shipment. It just hasn’t shipped out yet and Granger says there’s no chip hold on my order. The estimated delivery date in the Fire tracker went from 2/19 to 2/21 this morning.

It’s weird.
Yeah, I was. By no means was I slamming you, you’ve waited your turn.
I didn’t follow the site all that closely until I was told of the delays. It’s just frustrating having to wait so long. I’ve been truckless since 07/01 of last year and this whole process is starting to piss me off.
I have no qualms with waiting my turn, just irritatEd when folks with later blend dates get built and shipping notices first. I don’t blame them, just Ford.

Oh I didn't take it that way at all. Man, the wait is excruciating, especially for those who've been waiting the better part of a year.

What does the date at the bottom of the window sticker mean? Mine changed today to 2/16.

Just the last date refreshed….so in other words, nothing.

I would love to see the process for adding chips after a truck is built. Do they have to find the truck in a massive parking lot and then add them there, or bring the truck back to a line somewhere? Based on last year's parking lot photos it looks like chaos.
Please keep in mind Ford does not receive a shipment of "chips" and simply "plug" them into the trucks. They purchase electronic control modules (ie computers) from their suppliers which are made to their specifications. The modules are mounted/installed on the truck and plugged into the electrical harnesses.

Of course there's a whole list of supply logistic activities that need to successfully take place. Semiconductor chips and printed circuit boards are just some of the parts needed by Ford's suppliers who make the control modules. So the supply chain consists of chip manufacturers (most likely located somewhere in Asia) getting the raw materials, manufacturing and shipping those chips to Ford's suppliers who then have to manufacture and assemble the control modules which then need to be shipped to the plant and mounted on the trucks.
