It is absolutely baffling to me as to the cause. However the fix is to put in a Non-Ford battery. I did that four months after delivery and haven't had a peep in the ensuing nearly three years. across two Wyoming winters so far... Then there's alot of talk of the OEM size battery (H6) being too small. I've had that size battery in as a replacement for nearly three years, no problems noted. When I swapped out the OEM battery for an off-the-shelf, catalog battery (also H6) I wasn't smart enough to think about a larger size. As I've noted, I've not had a single issue since replacement with a Non-Ford (NAPA) battery.

Your computer needs to know what size battery you put in your truck so if you had h7 and you put in a h8. The computer would only charge the battery to a H7 Specs. Also you have us small battery in the back of the passenger backseat that need to be tested can Cause the problem to.

Replaced my '21 PB OEM with an Autozone Duralast Platinum H7 after I failed some OTAs. That was a year ago and working fine. The dealer battery tests are useless in this case. Worth skipping the aggravation to just swap on your own dime and have peace of mind.

Not quite true. The state of charge is measured by terminal voltage. It's true that the battery monitor system measures electrons in versus electrons out. But in the end, if the terminal voltage isn't yet up to the expected charge state level, the system will begin to up the charging until voltage gets to where it ought to be for the state of charge and the monitor system will log that something's changed. In my case when I replaced the battery I did not reset the battery monitor, I just drove off. The monitor system figured out the change and adjusted accordingly, probably over a few days or a couple of thousand miles.
