Just curious why you want or need this?
if you have to ask, you won’t understand. Just remember, when you really truly need them, the police will not be standing next to you or your family.

Watch out flappin that gigantic dong around.

I don't get gun people. I'm all for your right to do whatever you want, I just don't get it.

Sure, it's about being prepared. You keep a gas mask on you at all times? You wear a Kevlar vest? I'm sure you were all for social distancing and masks to stay prepared too right?
Thanks for chiming in, great post.

There is the CNN effect where any violence anywhere gets amplified by the media. When CNN started broadcasting 24x7 they needed content to fill all the time. They would glean information from anywhere and suddenly news of a single event in a remote part of the country became national "news". This has created a distorted perspective with regard to crime and violence which helps with getting people to view these stories.

Most gun deaths of adults are suicides. Most cops die from heart failure or auto incidents. 97% of crimes are not solved according to NYC statistics but with CSI the solve rate is a magical 97%.

Selling fear is a great way to sell firearms to the gullible.
You lost me at CNN....they still on?
No gullible arms holders, a lot of bad holders though...

Definitely not me. Like I said, it's amazing what people will assume about you just because you don't agree with them on one thing.

You guys want to quote all these stats about crime, but forget I work with the actual criminals that go to prison.

You guys can arm yourself to the teeth all you want. I don't care. Just stop pretending it makes you more manly, or less of a sheep, or a better protector of your family, or whatever the fuck you tell yourself. 99% of you will never find yourself in a situation to actually use all those guns you own. And of the 1% of you that will find yourself there, probably half of that 1% will never draw or get to the gun before it's lights out anyway.

You should move to Montgomery, AL. Taxes are WAY lower than where you currently live, and you can continue to not carry firearms there. The only thing to fear is fear itself. I left that place because of fear, but it seems that you would be poised to feel no fear whilst taking advantage of the much more reasonable costs of living.
Firearms are the only proactive life insurance policy currently available. Only a fool would believe their area is safe enough to forgo such insurance. All too often do you see neighbors of victims of violent crime pretend to be surprised about violence coming home because their area is just 'so safe'. 2/3 of mass shootings occur in "gun-free zones". It's almost as if criminals also read signs and prefer soft targets.

While I'm an advocate for fewer laws, I'd really like to see one for financial liability for both govts of all levels and business owners where local laws allow for the creation of private "gun-free zones". Anyone. at any level. allowing for the stripping of self defense rights, should bare full legal/financial liability to any victim as a result of such policies (with a very loose definition of 'victim' being anyone within the vicinity of the crime). "Safe areas" are by their nature a soft target due to the complacency.

I agree with you wholefartedly. I was being sarcastic to our left-leaning gentleman who seems to think it's all "fear mongering". Montgomery is one of the most dangerous cities in the nation, per capita. That's why I got the hell out of there. Limousine liberals often change their mind quietly when the stuff they say doesn't exist brought by the people they pretend don't do such things comes to THEIR doorstep...

Stop visiting threads you have no interest in. If you don't like guns, don't go in the GUN HOLSTER ON SIDE OF CENTER CONSOLE thread. Common sense, people.
I'm interested in all sorts of things.

I just get real sick of internet big dicks belittling people. You'll notice I didn't have a damn thing to say until someone whipped out their internet big dick and started calling others sheep.

So I'm a 0.5%-er, the type that did draw.
The right equipment and training made all the difference.
This is a thread about a DYI modification, not an Elbows and A$$hole check.

Sometimes our opinion isn't necessary, and it is important to know when to leave it in your holster and when to pull it out.
Wisdom is understanding the difference.
Find an audience (where you will be heard), not hijack a post to create one.

As for the collage of anecdotal accounts, it's called apophenia, when one combines random "data" for an outcome that is not supported. Activists, politicians and the media are prolific offenders. Again, wisdom is needed to determine the difference between biased research and valid conclusions.
