"ACTIVE" makes me immediately think of those damn Jamie Lee Curtis commercials.

With Halloween around the corner, this one checks all the boxes.

Yeah, we boomers were taught to embrace masculinity. You know, WW2, 'Nam, supporting a family, buying American, working with our hands and all those silly obsessions.

Glad Millennials became so enlightened and made this such a better place now.

"ACTIVE" pressed into your tailgate for sure.

Matching tattoo. (Just joking)
TIL baby boomers went to WW2. Technically, you could point to the division of our culture during the vietnam war as the first push away from traditionally masculinity norms. On one side, you had traditionally masculine war vets and supports and on the other side you had progressive anti-war counter culture that broke alignment and pushed towards a more social awareness culture.

Almost as if, baby boomers were the first domino to fall with regards to a divisional split in our culture, and almost as if, their children reflected that.

But you know, enlightened millennials are definitely at fault for the current political climate. The good news is that once you hit rock bottom, there is no where to go but up. So, let's continue to find the bottom together.

Enjoy your matching tattoo.

Badging can be replaced right?
Or, De-badging! I would remove those badges on day 1. I think Fords new nomenclature on the Explorers is dumb and makes no sense. Hopefully they don’t adopt that for the F150s. Why change something that has been in place for decades? It’s essentially iconic to the brand and makes it easier for the customer to understand what they are buying. But I’m sure some of the executive yahoos decided to make this change in hopes of somehow freshening the brand and trying to boost revenue.

It's already done on Expedition and Explorer. I'm driving an Explorer Active right now as a loaner.

No idea if it's coming to F-150s also. Would not be surprised. Really doesn't bother me.

GMC also got rid of SLE and SLT and went with Elevation for the lower trim. They all follow the same trends.

Everyone knows if you have an “ active” model you like to sux the D, but XLT is all hetero love …

ford hates lariat so much lately I would note be surprised if it become an ST line model
This cracks me up. My wife has the real Explorer ST… then I see all these ST Line Explorers running around faking the real ones. All show and no go.

And to think, some consultant got paid for that.

New Coke anyone?

Lol. No demographic in all of human history has had it easier than the American boomer.

Dave, looking into the future ...

I can see it now ... Big marketing hype for the last of the XLTs and first of the Actives. Collectors go nuts.

Every so often, a Limited Edition XLT is brought back.

You watch.

1. No Boomer knows anything more about WW2 than any other generation after you. You weren't alive for it. You either learned about it through stories or history books just like the rest of us. It's why you're called Boomers. You're products of the Baby Boom that happened after WW2 ended. Stop acting like it taught you anything.

2. Vietnam? You mean the war your generation actively sought to avoid by burning draft cards, fleeing to Canada and protesting? Maybe it was the spitting on returning soldiers that made you all so manly?

3. Yes, no other generation has ever supported a family or worked with your hands before or after you. You're all amazing human beings. You all single handedly defeated communism AND impregnated every woman you ever looked at with your sheer musk.

Most likely some marketing executive desperately wanting to take credit for doing nothing. Sees the trend on other brands and decides there’s no reason to come up with an innovative marketing strategy of his own. And why not? It’s a win-win. If sales go up he takes full credit. If sales remain the same, or go down, then he blames something else.
