As I prepare for FDRS updating I have been learning FORScan to check if the battery is ok.

Below is the result of a battery check using the power supply mode setting. If I understand the results the battery is in a sad state. But in April it was tested by a local garage and was at 100% charge and 12.6 volts. Yesterday I drove 175 miles, mostly interstate. The voltage is still 12.6. I put the charger on, and the charger started at 44% battery and was at 100% and 13.2V within an hour. No DTC’s or low battery warnings

Am I looking at the correct data? Is the battery ok to use FDRS? Is it time to get rid of the Ford battery still under warranty?

Yea, just make sure the SoC is high when you start the IPMA/PSCM combo since that one will take 3 hours If you need to take a break between updates to make sure the battery is at 100% before you start updating these, it would be a good practice if you want to play it safe and avoid issues. As long as you have a good power supply, you'll be fine.

Thanks for your help.
The BECM would be your high voltage battery reading I think for your powerboost and 45% is likely about right for it. I am confused by the 12v wording though. I don’t have a powerboost so I could be way wrong.

For your 12V battery be sure the negative of the charger/power supply is hooked to chassis ground so your BMS reports accurate 12V state of charge and FDRS update doesn’t falsely shut down for a bad reading from BMS when all is actually fine.

I see a new PCM update popped up this AM in FDRS. Anyone know what it improves?

Also i see a BCM"C" that appears I can update without a login. What does that one do?

2100 Not only is due to as build.. But it is also due to not being flashed. The module Has to be flashed then configured to clear the 2100.

Some module require being flashed first to clear teh 2100

@onodelta I have the SECM files if you want to try flashing it with FORScan. Jesse got me the files a week or two ago in order to help somebody out with a different issue, but also SECM related.

how do you flash with forscan? I thought the only option was to just load factory as built data and that's all it can get then write in those values. I ended up getting an FDRS 2 day license and ran the as built configuration module and the code went away, thank you for your help.

Oh good! There is a version of FORScan that allows you to do more than just make config changes and is very useful for fixing certain things, but glad you were able to sort it out.

where do you download that version from?
From the same place, but you need the paid license to access the link to the installer. Just be warned: FORScan themselves warns you against updating modules with it. It is not intended to be used as a replacement for FDRS and more of a last resort problem solving tool.

@rugedraw is referring to FORScan Beta. To get it, you need to join the FORScan forum, which gives you access to a private section of the website. The link can be found there. Joining the forum is invitation only, but you should have received an invitation code by email when you paid for your extended license for regular FORScan.

There are a couple of recent TSBs that call for reprogramming the PCM to address fault codes (e.g., TSB 25-2236, 25-2229) relating to the air dam and the Powerboost powertrain.

Did you install the PCM? If so, what strategy is it on now?

I think the BCM update changes the way the 12v charging system works; can't say for sure. For the EV's, it enabled WAL, but I don't think it does much for us. You can't do it without a dealer login anyway.

BCMC can be updated by anyone. It does not require security professional credentials.

I thought so. I figured he meant the BCM since he mentioned the password.
