If anyone is trying to install staging-3.0 tonight, github seems to be doing stupid stuff. If the software hangs at the comma logo, do a factory reset and install it again. At least 3 of us have had that happen, and it worked the second time despite doing nothing different.

Which branch are you on, and what settings do you turned on under the sunnypilot menu? Mine are smooth and no loss of speed.
Staging 2.1

Enable MADS
Enable V-TSC
Quiet Drive
Green Traffic Light Chime
Lead Vehicle Departure Alert

V-TSC is what slows you down in lane changes for sure.

What are your lateral settings in the BluePilot menu?

I successfully downloaded 3.0

Took two full attempts to install as you mentioned it might.

Whats changed or improved in 3.0?

Unfortuantely, we had to rush 3.0 out the door because the new devices comma was shipping wouldn't run stable and were having stability issues on 2.1. Something has changed in the hardware or base level firmware we are unaware of. Since it was rushed, there isn't a good readme yet. it's on my list to get to. But I would summarize it like this;

3.0 gets the following benefits;
Filet of Fish model (it's a pretty decent model)
lots of Ford specific UI goodies
Next-gen advanced lateral control (simplier to tune, better high curvature control)

3.0 Loses:
A lot of sunnypilot features because they haven't been ported yet. The big ones are SLC, M-TSC, V-TSC, Mapbox integration, and a lot of the UI elements

Those settings should have had decent lane chagnes after turning of V-TSC. But 3.0 has much less tuning. I would enable advanced lateral control and set your PC blend ratio to 0.75

Is there a path forward to improve steering off highway for the fords? I know you were messing with the f150 steering rack.

Love how I’m starting to see more shokz than AirPods.

You mean surface streets? Or in the woods?

Surface streets.
That’s what I spend 90% of my time on. You should see an improvement in 3.0. It will never be able to drive the tail of the dragon though, ford just didn’t build it for that.

That’s kinda what I was getting at. In your video you mentioned were pretty much at the limit of what the ford system is capable of as it was designed for highway use.

Basically I’m asking do you think it’ll ever be able to make a 90 degrees turn from a stop sign or similar.

And if not is that a hardware or software limitation?
