Something started to work out. I changed the VPN, it turned out it didn't work well and didn't help at all. As a result, I went 1 step ahead. But I still can't log in. I tried logging in first on the Motorcraft website, and then on the FDRS, but the result is still the same.

At this point, I will delete the Ford Program Files. These are hidden files and you will need to unhide them under your machine’s main drive.

Now up to 22087, and my Additional Updates list shows a whole slew of them coming up. I did a GWM update before an APIM update today.

I started to update IPC next, as it says I need to that and TCU next, but it said it would take 3 hours so I will need to do that another day.

Very common to see if you are outside US, like me. I have seen fair bit of these.

There is a folder FDRS creates inside Program Data - if you can delete that, uninstall and reinstall FDRS - that should sort it for you.

Assuming you are using Win11, this folder on Win11 is hidden, so you need to unhide it first. You can follow: https://lazyadmin.nl/win-11/show-hidden-files-windows-11/ to unhide and then delete the Ford folder.

Please don’t delete any other folders. FYI the uninstall of FDRS doesn’t delete this folder so this needs to be manually canned. So delete the folder, uninstall and reinstall and see how it goes.

Good. Thank you. I'll try it next time when I have the necessary amount of patience)
So far, there is no desire to continue fighting this terrible FDRS)

I’m trying to prepare for my FDRS plunge.

According to the photo below showing all the available updates, does anyone know if there is a specific order they should be performed? Maybe it doesn’t matter?

GWM, APIM TCU and IPC in that order as they appear. Doing one will release another until no more pop up. The rest don't matter in terms of the order, but IPMA will take 3 hours and is tied to the PSCM meaning doing one will trigger the other, so don't start those unless you have the time to see them through.

A (dumb) question about FDRS with a module that wasn't specified for my VIN/truck.

I swapped out my 8" IPC for a 12" IPC, and all was (and is) great. Received an OTA update that same day for HVAC, though I can't recall if it was before or after the swap. In the weeks following the truck was in the dealership for a new GSM, and that was programmed without issue.

My original understanding was that OTA updates would work, unless they were for the IPC or a module which required the IPC part number to be checked before. So something like a door module would update just fine. My understanding now reading on here is no OTA updates will work, and there's no changing that as the 12" IPC never came on the XLT series 2021-2023.

The truck works fine, but I was wondering if having the new IPC in the vehicle breaks FDRS completely - or just any update to the IPC or ones where the IPC part number has to be checked for a match. I suspect it's the latter as the dealer was able to program my GSM without issue, but I just wanted to check as I'm debating on getting a Mongoose to keep my truck up to date over the next few years.

I am aware if I plan on updating my IPC I'll need to check with the retailer I purchased it from, and/or learn how to sideload with Forscan.

Anything that depends on the IPC will not come through, and those are most of the big ones everyone wants: PSCM, IPMA, and APIM. Possibly, the GWM would get stalled, too.

I have a 2025 F150 Hybrid which I have disabled the PACM by unplugging it and using Forscan to change IPC to reflect no PACM.

I now have a Check Engine (P2450) related to a malfunction in the fuel system that will likely require me to take the truck in for warranty work.

My question is, seeing earlier posts that show an order to software installation, will the missing PACM cause other modules not to load software? If so, should I reconnect the PACM and restore the IPC setting before taking it in for service?

Thanks in advance,
Mike

@UNCGrad is seeing something different than the typical ACM failure to clear problem. Usually, the update applies normally. It just doesn’t come off the FDRS queue. She’s seeing an actual “procedure unsuccessful” error when she tries to run it. Might be worth trying again later, on a non-Sunday if possible.
Running the "Read Configuration Data" tool puts the asbuilt back in to the cloud.

I think you’re overstating what that tool does. First, I’m not sure it’s available for all modules or only certain ones. Second, for the modules for which it is available it doesn’t repopulate all of the local as-built data—only certain parts. If it uploaded everything, the tool could be used to immediately upload FORScan changes to the cloud instead of having to wait for the vehicle to self-report. As far as I know, there is no way to force up FORScan configuration changes.
