I may of gotten PL and ML and other nomenclature mixed up in my post as well ordering the AB!

Have you received the PL3Z-3f791-AB yet? And can you confirm that it is the correct part? Its hard to find info on this exact part number (no actual pictures online as of yet).

I'm just about to pull the trigger for my XLT and its hard to believe that the $64 PL3Z-3f791-AB is the same as the >$200 ML3Z-3F791-BB that was mentioned earlier in the thread.

I am waiting for it! I ordered from Hacienda ford, Mondo was great to work with, very attentive, they have an online sales dept.


It took a bit longer, I had bashed my passenger mirror a while back so figured I would order everything. at once. You think figuring this out is hard. My mirror is electric, heated, blinker, puddle light no camera. They could not figure out which cover I needed even by vin. . The one I ordered that I thought was right was discontinued, they needed to find out from ford if the other one would fit as there was no cross reference.

Then the PL3Z-3f791-AB was on back order so I ordered the next one on the list I referred to in one of my earlier posts (post 1,494).

So I switched to another one on the list, PL3Z379HB which costs70.14. It supersedes ML3Z-3F791-HB from the list.

So waiting for it all to ship. I don't know how it works, if it drop ships from Ford or goes to them then gets shipped. My order says in progress. If it does not change tomorrow I will email them to see what is going on.

Regardless will up date with what I get when it shows.. Why pay for a tilt/tele switch, and auto sensing wiper switch when you don't have them?

If it's not power or ground related, a new SCCM may be in your near future.

I removed the housing from the steering column and double checked all my connections there and where the power wire plugs into the BCM as well. Everything appears solid. I also double checked all my settings in Forscan and nothing has changed. I was fortunate enough today to be able to meet up with Jesse from Infotainment and he reflashed the firmware on my SCCM in hopes that would resolve the issue, but no luck. He said he's never seen an SCCM just go bad before, but it appears that's what happened.

I emailed them today and they actually called me back. The parts will ship Monday so I will have them next week.

Your not the only one I spent all day Thursday in the ford dealer trying to get mine to work the dealership couldn’t even fix it said I may need new gateway module everything worked except the heat untill I loaded the changes to the asbuilt but I had a hiccup of my licens key expired while it was loading talk about luck

Truly sorry to hear that's the issue, but hopefully, a new SCCM will resolve your problem. Jesse is a brilliant individual and if it was a simple issue, he would have certainly identified and resolved it.

Success!! After hours of watching YouTube videos, it turned out to be an incredibly easy swap. Both the SCCM and steering wheel as well as the HVAC module with button for heated wheel and digital temp readouts. All in. The “easy” Forscan changes all now are in the spreadsheet and worked like a champ. Thanks to all for blazing the trail.

Well, I may have claimed success too soon. It seems that all my steering wheel left hand buttons are non responsive. I have no ACC controls nor voice recognition or volume buttons. Any suggestions as to how to troubleshoot it? All the right hand buttons work. All buttons are lit at night. I’ve double checked the plug from the wheel to the SCCM and it appears fine.

Turns out the new SCCM from Tasco that was missing the white plastic grenade pin was bad. Had to put my old non-heated SCCM back in, and everything works, except of course the heated steering wheel. I believe I can now change out the SCCM in less than fifteen minutes start to finish. Amazing what experience does.

I need to exchange this bad SCCM, but absolutely no response from any of my efforts. I’ve ordered before from them, but it was probably five years ago. I never expected them to be so unresponsive. Anyone got an inside line? I need a RMA.

I put my wiring into 1/4 wire loom due to the sharpness of the flashing left on the magnesium dash casting. Just kinda fish it through where you can. Pretty cluttered inside of the dash.
