I get my oil changed at the dealership, I know more expensive, but it's official in my record. My question is when do you change the oil, when the little sticker they put on the windshield shows or when the engine/oil indicator gets low percentage? They seem to differ greatly. The sticker is usually 5000 miles but the percent indicator is more, like 7000 miles or so. Is the sticker just a petty money grab or is the indicator off? Thanks, Bill

I also do 5K miles, dealer provided synthetic blend. I let it go once based on the trucks onboard computer and it was nearing 10K miles before a change was needed...Oil could have been fine but I didn't feel comfortable doing that without oil analysis.

small businesses can document your maintenance too, FYI.
If you DIY, you can put it in the FordPass app, yes, it would just be “your word”, but I strongly doubt someone taking the time to put it in the app is lying about actually performing the maintenance.

Not sure if it shows in the carfax reports or not, but it doesn’t look any different than the “Dealer Entries” to me, just says “Owner Entry” instead.

5k miles no matter what the dash says.

It does not show up on Carfax. I just sold my bronco and they provided a free Carfax on their website for it and it didn't show any maintenance even though I changed oil every 3k miles, engine filter and cabin filter and logged all them all the time in ford pass.

It shows if you have it done somewhere, not at home.

I run E85 all the time. The oil monitor usually reaches 0 about 4000 miles. Surprised it knows I am using E85.

Thank you for all the responses. You right, who knows what my truck knows about me. More than I know about my truck, that's for sure!
