The rear caliper bracket bolt spacing for a 9.75" is 180mm, I don't know the exact measurement for the Super 8.8", but it looks like the bolt holes are about 25-35mm closer together.

I haven't been able to measure specifically, but yes, when I set the bracket up against it, it looked like about 1.5" difference.

I just measured the TBM brackets, and yeah, they're right at 7" (~180mm) from the center of each ear bolt hole. I'm gonna wager a bet to say they were made for the 9.75" diff and not the Super 8.8".

That's really odd because the Super 8.8" has been the most common rear axle for 5.0 F150s for a long time now. I thought the whole point of their kits is to reduce weight by installing smaller brakes so I'm surprised to hear that they assume people are using the heavier 9.75" rear axle.

I would think that they have to be aware of the different rear axles, but their website doesn't seem to make any mention of them. I hope this is just an oversight in the listing and they can quickly send you the correct brackets.

Yeah, I don't quite understand it either, because the Super 8.8" has been in use since 2015 IIRC, and is a well known diff for use on the 5.0 trucks. I too would find it very weird that they never thought that the 9.75" and 8.8" diff didn't have the same ear spacing, but the website simply says "fits 11-24 F-150."

Are you sure the super 8.8” is the most common axle for the 5.0 F-150? My 2013 5.0 was a 9.75” and my 2022 5.0 is a 9.75“. I have multiple friends who have had 2011 to 2022 5.0s and they were all 9.75”. None of our trucks had the heavy payload package.

In addition, Wilwood makes a Rear big brake upgrade kit for 2012-2018 trucks and the kit only comes with a 9.75” caliper bracket for their 6 piston caliper. They state it fits all 6 lug trucks which makes me think they only work on 9.75” axles.

The Super 8.8" became the standard axle for 5.0 F150s in 2015, if you got certain options like the e-locker 3.73 rear axle or max towing package, you would get upgraded to the 9.75".

For the 2011-2014 5.0 F150s, I believe the 9.75" was the standard axle.

Was able to chat with TBM regarding the measurements and such. Yes, the issue is that the brake kit was designed for the 9.75" axle and not the Super 8.8". They mentioned they are going to see if they have a CAD design for the Super 8.8" and get the bracket machined. Will use the same rotor, caliper, and lines, just different bracket and M16 instead of M18 hardware.

Spoke with the rep at TBM further. They've got the CAD files for the Super 8.8" and I sent them some pictures from my own truck just to verify things. Should hopefully have a bracket whipped up for it soon.

TBM mocked up some brackets for the Super 8.8 in CAD, and then also purchased a complete used Super 8.8 axle to verify fitment on them. After that was done, they shipped out the new brackets and hardware. I should have them Tuesday. Talk about customer service!

Also as an update - with the parking brake motors relocated and secured to the bed while still plugged in - I haven't had any issues with the truck getting pissed off about it. Now, granted, I have the park hold turned off (it bugs the shit outta me) and I don't use the parking brake anyways, but at this point there's been no problems. Supposedly the problem with trying to code the electronic parking brake out is that at startup the ECM does a system check on the circuit to see if they are there. I'm sure if some sort of resistor or something that could "emulate" the parking brake motors was there they wouldn't need to left on the truck, but at this time there hasn't been a "fix" found for this.

Got the TBM rear brake setup installed. Everything fit perfectly with the new brackets TBM designed for the Super 8.8" diff. Got the system bled and filled with TBM's DOT 5.1 fluid too. One extra thing I did do was grind the tabs off the factory hard line brackets so I could reuse the brackets to hold the ABS wires and also attach the TBM brake lines to.

what kind of use do you put your truck through? what weather as well?
would the TBM setup work well for a daily in Canadian winters?

Daily driver, occasional towing, Iowa weather. So far it's been fine in the Iowa winter with the snow and salt.

Wish there was an OEM front brake upgrade option like the 6 piston PPV brakes GM has for the 1500s/Tahoes/Suburbans/etc.
