I’ve been a diehard Ford loyalist for nearly 3 decades. For half of that time purchasing new trucks about every other year. This is the first time that ordering something has not been enjoyable, finding it impossible to get what you want is extremely frustrating. I understand them wanting to simplify ordering and I can appreciate that. A couple of my new trucks were raptors, and those were super simple to order because there just wasn’t a lot of extra options, everything was included in the packages, but this time around with the standard F150 lariat it’s completely different. Options I want aren’t available such as the blackout package in the 157 inch wheelbase. Then in addition, the amount of cuts is super frustrating, example would be the lower LED running lights on the lariat. For giggles I went over to Chevrolet’s website to build price a truck and was amazed that you could spec out a completely loaded truck with a mini diesel, and be significantly cheaper than an F150 platinum. Not wanting to start a Chevy Ford war but has Ford lost their minds with this ordering debacle? I think it’s fine to simplify ordering and include things and packages, but it almost seems like Ford is trying to steer people obviously to the higher price point trucks, what also gets me maybe even more so is the amount of cut items from a lariat trim. Am I the only one that feels this way? I wish there were a way to get some feedback to FMCO.

Completely agree. I ordered a 24MY 502a Lariat in July with 5.0 V8, BAP, max tow, onboard scales, etc. They couldn't fill the order. Was told to resubmit as a 25MY in November. I expected to get the same truck only to find out I can't get onboard scales, keypad, and it's missing LED DRLs in the bumper and the buttons above the screen. Who knows what else will be missing.

I’m kind of dealing with the same issue on getting a new Expedition for the wife. I get too they want to simplify things but they are definitely pushing folks to the higher packages.

I’m going to have to get a platinum to get what I want and it’s looking to be about seven grand more than the decked out lariat trim. The hardest thing for me was when I went to build a Price a Chevy and saw even more features, completely loaded everything up, and it still came in significantly under platinum. I don’t know anything about those trucks or they’re ordering processes, but something doesn’t seem right.

I don’t care for how the ordering works either. For as expensive as these trucks are, there are simple things you should be able to get.

For instance, if I want power telescoping tow mirrors, I shouldn’t have to step up to a lariat. Or why are the regular tow mirrors a $300 option when built but $1000 if you order them afterwards?

Why am I forced to order a 5.0 v8 to get max tow, when since well they started the 3.5eb I think max tow was only available if you had the 3.5eb?

I don’t understand cutting off your nose to spite your face, when your lots are full of old stock, and your forced to take back all of these leases that the dealers won’t take because the buyout is too high.

Just don’t get it.

Yup. I got exactly what I wanted with my lariat when I ordered it in June 21. No cuts, all the bells/whistles you would expect for a $70k truck.

I built a 25 as I am considering replacing and I cannot build the truck I want anymore. Plus with all the cuts the truck will have fewer features than my 21. Naw.

I totaly agree, and feel your frustration. I have/had a 2025 Lariat PB FX4 on order. I hated the fact that it's virtually the same build as my current 21' PB. However, it's 11k more. I understand it's 4 yrs newer, but still. I was basically forced to upgrade on the package to get a couple of feature that have been bumped up to the "high" package. I've been complaining to Ford about their packaging for years.
all they care about is what's easier/cheaper for THEM... and not what's easiest and best for the customer.
Hence... i have purchased my current 2021 PB FX4, because i ordered it exactly the way i wanted it.
Other than the tow mirrors, it's perfect!

Looking at a new F150 but I need power fold mirrors if i want to get it in my garage. Ford should realize that anybody in a snow state that has a garage would want to at the very least park their cars indoors! Add it as an option for EVERY line of the 150 trucks. You have to step up to a Lariat to make that happen at a significant cost! Its obviously a big issue as there are plenty of blogs out there about people making the modification. As a Ford person my whole life, that is now changing. My recent car was NOT a ford and my truck decision is still out. I hate to say it but Chevy is looking like an option.

Just get the Chevy/GMC if it meets your needs bro. Absolutely no reason to be a brand loyalist for 30+ years. Ford is just another vehicle manufacturer, they don't know who you are.

I currently have an F-150 and my wife has an Expedition because I feel they have the best drivetrain, better tech and interior. I've been more of a Chevy guy in the past but it really doesn't matter to me. When it's time to buy an expensive vehicle I'll explore all the options at the time. No reason not to. I could just as easily be driving a Chevy Ram or Toyota if I felt they were better for me or a better deal.

I really don't get the brand loyalty thing unless you are a long time employee of Ford or something.

I do get the frustration with not being able to order what you need/want though. That would just drive me elsewhere also.

Chevy would be a viable option if they didn’t eat their lifters at 40k ??

I have 2 friends with new chevys. One with a 6.2 that has been rebuilt 2 times with 30k miles both covered under warranty (Chevy has all parts in stock for rebuilds at all dealerships it’s so common) another friend with a 5.3 at 45k just ate its lifter and a cam he is paying for a rebuild out of pocket. Lifters replaced and cam and 300 miles later dropped another lifter ?

All work done by Chevy ??. Nuts

Prices are out of hand totally. A Platinum is now over $100K cad and they cut some features. That’s why I bought a slighty used Limited for the price of a new loaded XLT . Crazy ?

Do you understand how cumulative/compounding inflation works? From 2021 until today, it's at 16.43%.

I have no idea what you paid for your '21 PB, but $65,000 in 2021 dollars is $75,680.08 in today's dollars. That's literally $10,680.08.

Why is that Ford's fault?
