I installed a Wolfbox on my previous truck.
It was a nice unit for sure, however, I realized that I didn't love using the monitor screen as a backup camera as it was jarring to my eyes. It fit my mirror poorly and looked aftermarket, and honestly it was a total PITA to install and run everything to the outside of the truck to the license plate.
I already have a backup camera & parking guides.
The basic camera that installs in 15 minutes gives me everything I need, protection from an accident that occurs up front. That should be enough for me to avoid a fraudulent insurance claim.

+1 for Wolfbox. Get the mount adapter for the F150 (instead of just strapping it to the existing mirror) and it will be the cleanest install you can get. I have a roof top tent blocking my rear window so I have my rear camera on the back bumper.

I have only ever observed Thinkware options on the Ford accessory pages. Working from memory, but I recall that they have instructions for tucking wiring under trim.

Looks like a couple folks responded that they have experience with Ford's Thinkware options, so it might be good to follow up with them directly.

Buy a DONGAR power connector, so you can power it ON from your rear view mirror ??

These are awesome and allow for a very clean setup that is stupid easy to install yourself.

Figure out if your dashcam is USB Micro B or USB C, then order a 6" or so cable to keep it very clean.

I've run a few Viofos with good results. Currently have a 139 in the truck and a 229 in another car, both hard wired and front/rear.

I mainly keep going back because I'm familiar with the interface and no real issues.

Ahh gotcha, no you don't.

Mine does have a built in battery, which is good for parking lots, but not overnight.

I have not installed the Wolfbox yet; I am waiting for the mirror bracket and the 33' rear camera cable.
Have you purchased this dash camera? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

I follow his channel and happen to have purchased his recommended High End Multiple Angles dash cam, the Viofo A229 Pro. I also purchased the hardwire kit for it, and will be connecting it to the fuse panel on the passenger's footwell so it's on all the time.

I found a post with dashcam wiring instruction, but I think it referred to some changes for the 2024 models, so I'm waiting to get confirmation before starting the install.

When I looked at dozens of models and the reviews by customers on Amazon I realized that reliability was going to be a problem with all of them and decided not to buy one.
