Apologies for the delay in posting. I had back surgery and I’ve been in bed the past week and a half.

I just changed driving models to New Delhi, and initial results seem to show the truck driving a bit more centered. If you look at the screen, you can also see an additional yellow line that it uses to determine where the shoulder edge is in some situations. I wonder if that’s what’s pushing the truck back more centered.

I’m gonna try to play around with some more highway later today or tomorrow if I can

After playing with New Delhi for a while, it does seem to be a bit better at pulling me off the right shoulder. I don’t think it dynamically changes though depending upon the lane that I am in. But it does seem to do a better job of centering the vehicle when in lane full mode., Not lane less.

There is an option in there for centering on curves, when I have that turned on as well as the adjustments on the lane, centering and curves, it seems to be a lot more centered in most situations

I believe there is something in the logic of New Delhi that may be beneficial. It may also be looking at the lane striping differently from what it seems on the screen when driving. When it has a green line on the shoulder, I tend to be more away from it than other driving models.

I hope that helps and you can make sense of it to incorporate into whatever you’re working on

On the highway, I much prefer New Delhi now. It stinks for curvy back roads without a white line on the side though. Is there a way to better switch between profiles dynamically? Is that something that could be added as a feature going forward possibly?

We try not to change anything from SunnyPilot that is not Ford specific. If you want to join the Discord and add it as a Sunny feature request, he might consider it:

With the newer versions I see more detail adjustments that I dont quite understand. Like curves. I notice that when making right curves the truck Huggs the left center line or slightly crosses over while a left turning curve the truck stays centered.

It turns out the profile is actually blue diamond, V2.

It has some sort of logic to detect the edge of the road. That’s when it then will push you off the right side if you’re in the right lane or in a single lane road. It will then push you off the left if you’re in the left lane because it’s the edge of the road and I believe calculates based off that.

I don’t know if you can incorporate that into a new profile that works better with some of the more advance since you made over the last year, but this is the one that I was referring to earlier

No it's not possible to mix models. Only comma can do that.

Coming up on the end of my blue cruise subscription so just starting to pay attention to this. Would now be a bad time to buy a Comma 3x? Is there any indication on when the next generation device will be available?

I think they are a few years away from new hardware. Their huge focus right now is on software simulation. Speculating, I think the next hardware advancement will be letting you connect a laptop to your existing C3X to solve the model further out.

With the limited amount of ford trucks by year of production. Encryption limitations. Do you think we will continue to be supported in the next two years or longer?
Right now I plan to keep my 2022 as long as possible.

they still claim they intend to buy an F150 and make support official. Even if they don’t, the software we have today can run as long as you can find a C3X or A1 to run it on.

I was responding to that discussion about possible new hardware.
I don't think they will invest any more into ford especially when 2024 model is the cut off. I haven't followed any other models that will be affected by future encryption.
