Truly disappointed by my 2024 F150 not recognizing 2021 original Ford TPMS. I bough winter rims in ‘21 and could not believe the ‘24 F-150 would not recognize them. Even my dealership was not able to reprogram the truck to recognize them.
Programmed obsolescence is very frustrating with Ford products. If only they took in the old TPMS in for a rebate on the purchase of new ones.
Had anyone experienced this Ford scam? Surely they had no technological improvement attached to this obsolescence!

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensors from 2023 F15@ and earlier used 315 mhz, in 2024 they switched to 433 mhz.

Yea, I ordered wheels, tires, and sensors and went to 2 different tire shops and a dealer to try and have the sensors programmed with no luck. A few weeks later posts started popping up with the same problem and it came out that they changed. I bought the new sensors but haven't gone to have them installed yet because I'm paranoid about them scratching my wheels so I just roll with the light.

I just went thru this with my 24” I ordered new tires and wheels from custom offsets and they were shipped with a 315 frequency so the truck wouldn’t pick them up so after calling them back I was able to find out they they used a dual band sensor capable of 315/433 so I just had to find a tire shop to reprogram the sensors but that was easier said than done. The three different tire shops I went to didn’t have the right brand of tpms scanner that I needed so I ended up getting one from Amazon and reprogramming them myself. It was actually pretty easy but the oem sensors are single band so the only option is swapping sensors. The part number for the dual band sensors that are in my wheels are UVS 7051.

I would call the place you bought them from to see if they installed dual band and what brand of sensor used.

Good to know, I'll have to check on that. Which tool did you get to reprogram them?

Not sure about the '24s but for the '21-'23s there was a procedure you could perform to learn them. I had a post about it, but it is no longer showing up in the search tool.
You just need to drive for 5 miles and they will relearn by them self. I have done this for 3 years now when I put on my winter tires.

I'll just turn off tpms with forscan for my 24. I am not changing the for the new 433 mhz

I drove at least 50 miles after I got my new wheels and tires and they refused to auto learn. I found the procedure referenced in the link above and that solved it.

The reset procedure is in the owners manual in the TPMS section. As far as the 24’s go , yes they are different as noted by others. Spread the word . I get technology changes but I feel manufacturers could probably come to some kind of standardization with these. So many different systems out there. Or better yet just go to an indirect system that just use the ABS sensors like my VW has.

They definitely won’t auto learn. The frequency for 24 is different. Either swap sensors or turn off TPMS in Forscan.

No, please.

I much prefer an actual pressure-reading sensor rather than the wonky imputed (estimated) loss of pressure from counting tire rotations.

I would find out what brand of sensor used and what frequency before I recommend a scanner as mine is only compatible with certain sensors. Also if you have the right frequency you might just have to do an auto relearn with the truck that involves a certain sequence.

For that to have even a chance of actually working with any accuracy, it would need data on the tires mounted, and probably the wear, and . . .

Retired and not looking. I am driving the wife crazy.
Damn, this sounds just like a problem I have managed to avoid. I probably spoke too soon.
