Hi, I bought a 2022 F150 Platinum v6 hybrid today.
I did a city+highway driving on the 2-wheel mode today, but the best I had is 18.8 mpg.

The car has Ironman AT2 tires(275/60R20) but I don't know how much this affects fuel economy.

The window sticker and Ford suggest 23 mpg on PB.
Is this right? It is a used car with 31k miles on it, there should not be a problem with the hybrid battery, right?
Thanks!

I attached my Eco summary and tire pressure during a city drive.
I really drove gently, the electric motor will take up to 10 miles/hr, and the engine steps in at 1.7k RPM. Regularly, I keep the RPM around 1.3-1.5k. I followed the EV Coach, trying my best to maintain EV mode.

In addition, I somehow hear some air leaking noise. Is it possible a turbo leak? I see some people have their turbo pressure on the instrument panel but what is the third symbol on my instrument panel?

I now have an average of 20 mpg given some changes recently.
1. I replaced the air filter.
2. I turned on 'eco idle' in the vehicle setting.
3. I run the 91 premium gas now.
4. The temperature in Phoenix dropped from 100+ to 95 in the day which may help the battery.

I don't know how good is the EV mode in a new PB F150. However, taking off from a traffic light generally requires power from ICE; the electric motor is not good enough as it can only take me slowly up to 10 mph maximum.

Now I started questioning if there really something wrong with my truck.
I did a few road trips and I carefully followed the EV coach.
I got 23mph. If I cruise at 65mph I get 23mpg, and it drops to 20mpg at 85mph which is poorer than most of the replies in this thread. The truck is not heavily loaded, usually 2 people with a few bags only.

ps. I can hear a whistle sound coming from the driver's side of the engine if I drive below 40mph, my friend told me that is probably the noise from the EV motor. Hope it is not some sort of turbo leak.

It’s very possible. I’m getting about 22-23 mpg on a full tank. And hoping it’ll get a little better as it breaks it. Doesn’t help trying to teach a 15 year old how to drive ?

What tires do you have? All-terrain or regular city tires?

That's what I get at ~85mph. What size / brand are the tires? Pics?

Aside from towing, I've only had a single tank in 20k miles below 20mpg. Mileage did improve slightly as it broke in.

Factory Pirelli tires still. Looking forward to switching them out after I get some more wear out of these. I don’t like these at all.

Breathe.
Get to know the truck.
It's literally been one day and you drove it around a bit.

This truck can be driven 6 miles and get 15 mpg.
Or it can be driven 6 miles and get 29 mpg.

So which 6 miles represents the real efficiency of the truck? Neither.
It'll make more sense a week, or a month from now.

Yeah, truck does take some adjusting to fully figure it out. Little things like braking a bit early to turn off the ICE is stuff you learn. Also keep the EV coach on-screen to learn the truck. Just a little understanding can go a long way.

Agree- running EV coach is essential to figuring the out how the powertrain works most efficiently.

You mentioned AT tires; are they the same diameter as stock? The speedometer is programmed for a specific tire size and a larger-diameter tire will travel the same distance with fewer revolutions, giving the software the impression that you've gone a shorter distance on the same amount of fuel. If they are larger, then you can recalibrate via FORScan.

You didn't mention a lift, but if it is lifted, then that will also cost mileage.

I have 1k miles on my 24 Lariat. So far averaging 20 mpg. I do a combination of highway and city. I also have the 22 in wheels, not sure if that makes a difference.
