That’s my understanding. This is why it’s so bothersome that @Granger Ford did the PDI and prep yet failed to notify their client. I’m sure a big % of buyers are out of state, so not communicating defects to their customers is beyond comprehension especially since travel and/or shipping costs are incurred. Imagine ordering a truck from them and you are notified it’s ready. You purchase a 1 way plane ticket to discover what OP saw after shipping. Now you have to buy a last minute plane ticket home full of disappoint and a lot less money in your pocket with no truck. It’s sad that people are treated this way.

Is that some kind of buffing compound on the inside of the tailgate? What’s up with that? Doesn’t that mean someone noticed something and body work has been done? Who did that? @BarryT82

Besides the fact that your dealership is across the country, I just don't understand the math of this whole buying a truck in Iowa. Ya, you save 4% on a $80,000 truck, but how much of that $3,200 is put into plane tickets, transport trucks, gas to drive back home, future trips to Iowa?

I don't know anything about Granger. May be a great place, may not be. I just don't get it. It's not that good of a deal.

That seems like an issue. Especially a high flake paint job like that. Almost looks like someone burned the clear coat and got into the flake? Can’t really touch up or “spot fix” a paint like that. Sucks man. Clearly there were more issues and someone tried to fix something.

You’re misunderstanding: 4% below invoice isn’t 4% below MSRP. I saved over $7,500 on my truck when it was 3% below invoice. 4% below invoice on an $80k truck is going to be closer to $9,000 in savings. There’s a reason so many folks have gone this route.

When you do the math, it’s closer to 9-10% below MSRP.

So, you're essentially ordering directly from the factory, but still expecting the full dealership experience and care?

Any chance we can get you to start your own thread and extend some courtesy to the OP?
Not really. He's felt a need to put his woes in every other thread here.

When you buy a wash machine on sale do you still expect it to last as though it was at full price?

I wish I found it amusing that consumers have been lulled into the defense of large corporations.......and........car dealerships of all businesses - but I just don't see the punchline. If Farley and whoever owns Granger would ever read this thread I'm sure they're laughing all the way to the bank.

I do. I also buy it local from a place that will fix it. I don't order it from Oregon, sign for it and then go online to complain about my choices.

My truck was damaged when it came in. I bought my truck from a small dealership from my hometown. They ended up fixing it before they would sell it to me because they wanted to make it right. It annoyed me at the time because I just wanted my truck but I'm very thankful for it long term. I believe they ended up paying for it to get fixed rather than wait for the insurance companies.

I didn't demand to have my cake and eat it too. They told him how it was going to get fixed. He didn't like the deal he signed up for and now he's all over this site complaining about it.

Your argument Is ridiculous, and you’ve already shown you know nothing about the process Granger advertises on purchase.

Granger allows themselves 7-10 days upon receipt of your truck from Ford to perform their pre delivery inspection, after which they work with customers to correct any outstanding items. That didn’t happen here; there isn’t any ambiguity about what Granger was entitled to do- they define it and they dropped the ball.

What in the world are you on about with your nonsense arguments as if you were the one who sold the truck to the OP?

You go on with your bad self. It doesn’t mean you’re right.
