Good, I hope this works out well for all involved. You guys at Granger have had a really good reputation on this forum, and this is a good time for you to uphold it. I've always felt like a situation that starts out bad and is made right by a business is more impressive to me than a situation that goes fine. The challenging situations are where you can see what people are made of.

I just wanted to pop in here and write a quick note. We looked the truck over when it is dropped off and again before delivery. Our team does a good job, but there are times that issues can be missed.

We then have a delivery process to the customer, most of the time it happens in person, but at times we have people transport the truck. In this situation it was transported to the customer and inspected by the transport company.

Unfortunately there were some quality issues on this truck and our team walked through potential solutions with the customer. We escalated the issues to the regional team at Ford and are waiting to hear back.
Thanks for the response. Many of us here are big fans of @Granger Ford due to the high standards your company has set. None of us expect perfection because we all know we’re far from perfect. I think I speak for many in saying we have full confidence in @Granger Ford to rectify this issue to your customer’s satisfaction.

Maybe Ford needs a big ‘ol SHUTDOWN to get their quality control under… CONTROL!
They did it with their cash cow Superduty, for what, six weeks? After quality went in the crapper. It is stupid that someone let this truck pass inspection before leaving the factory. Keep this up and someone’s soon to be dethroned as the #1 for 47? Years running? And I’ve been a die-hard ford man with over 30 fords under my belt. Sad to see this happen regardless of the vehicle invoice in the $78k range

One of these days I will be picking up a truck from Granger. I plan to do a thorough exam and inspection of the truck. Let's hope this is a one off.

Dumb question: Was this truck made at the KC plant?

So the Granger team looked the truck over twice, the transport company looked the truck over, and the QC control folks at Dearborn looked the truck over…..and everyone missed it?

Yeah that sounds like a load to me. Be honest, be accountable, and make it right. Right now, I’m ashamed that I bought my ESP from Granger. A purchase I made because of their reputation on this forum. It is valuable. I suggest you attempt to uphold it.

If that many people with the expertise to spot this stuff were having an off day, how do you ghost a customer like this?

I think people are pretty disillusioned on what gets done during PDI. When I picked up my truck at Granger, I had a decent scuff on my front headlight that I immediately saw just walking around the truck. There was no way there was any type of "inspection" done on the vehicle. They probably screwed in the antenna, took the seat plastic off and filled it with gas. Thats it. PDI complete. I flew in to get the truck so either I had it take it with the scuff, or arrange to fly home and do it all over when the issue was corrected. Granger also advised me to do a warranty claim when I got home with my local dealer. Luckily I was able to take care of the scuff to my satisfaction without going the warranty route. This is the biggest pitfall of buying far away from where you live. For me, the savings justified the risk. Unfortunately Granger will probably just opt to lose this customer instead of eating the cost to fix it. I sure hope they make it right!

Fortunately, things like this forum help raise the stakes for a business that might otherwise just brush it off like you said. When they do right it gets broadcast. When they screw somebody over it gets broadcast.

I just heard back from Ford and they said that they’ll cover the seat cushion but not the top of the seat. They said that it looks like someone rubbed it with something. It was like that when I got it.

Feel bad for you OP. No way that truck should have ever left the factory with those blatant quality issues let alone pass through Granger PDI when they received it. I bet they didn't want to deal with it, so once you took delivery it's your issue now.

The hassle factor is going to be through the roof on this. Ford needs to buy that truck back and replace it. You'd hope Grange would step up to the plate and help with that process....

@Ford Motor Company owes you a whole seat. It looks like somebody took a piece of sandpaper to that spot and just gave up.

It's wild these issues made it out of the factory dude sorry you're dealing with this.

That’s a corner that appears to have been dragged on that edge. Riddle me this, how does one drag that edge after it’s been installed? OP, are you sure you didn’t remove the seat and take it for a walk dragging on that corner? Be honest, we all like to take our seats for walks.
