I am not sure what the technical name for the this A-pillar is (?) but i did my best to describe it.
Please see the attached photos of the cracks.
They are on both sides of the truck in the upper corners of the windshield on the A-pillar (edited: thanks @HammaMan) .
It appears that water could get into the cab.

  1. Is this something to be concerned about?
  2. Should the standard factory warranty cover it?
  3. What would be an acceptable remedy?

That's the A-pillar and at the very least the sealant is cracked. Warranty

There is a is weld done at the factory by hand at the intersection of the roof panel and the A-pillar, I wonder if this was somehow forgotten at the factory when the truck was built. See video @43:44

Based on the still from the video showing this guy not even wearing his helmet, I'd say there's a high likelihood that many of these welds get missed.

I am not sure if i should be more concerned about the crack or the dealer trying to repair it?
So far, the truck has been mostly trouble free (maybe i have blinders on).
I would hate for them to mess with the windshield and develop a windshield leak that damages the electronics in the dash.
?‍♂

Most dealerships will outsource this type of work to a body shop. Even windshields they have contracted companies come do the work.

If this were my truck I'd take a small pick and see if that is a crack in the body sealant (soft) or if it's actually through the aluminum body.

An aluminum body crack I'd want fixed sooner than later. If it's just the body sealer, that's more of a cosmetic issue unless there's a water leak associated with it, still would have Ford fix it, but maybe just filler and touch up paint, don't mess with the windshield.

For what it's worth, I had a water intrusion issue that took a month for the dealership and body shop to find/fix, the oem windshield was cut out and re installed 3 times with no issues and later determined not to be the leak source.

Hey Tall Tail, have you had any luck or progress in getting this sorted? I'm noticing water in the cab on the sides of the truck and I also have something similar. Carpet doesn't appear to be wet. It doesn't seem to be originating from the rear of the cab since the water spots are only at driver and passenger side sil area. Air filter is dry. 2021 Job 1 truck, no sunroof. I'll probably make a new post with more photos.

I've just started investigating, so I'm not sure if water is actually entering here yet, I need to do some more testing.

If you look closely, he has a hand held shield instead of a welding hood.
