Hi there! New member, great forum you guys have built with tons of info. Thank you all for that. Hopefully someday I'll contribute something useful.
Anyways, looking to purchase a '24 PB XLT 4x4 w 302a, trailer tow package, and 7.2 onboard. Some nice-to-haves would be the bed package, FX4, bed liner.
My strategy is to wait until Nov/early Dec and pick up an outgoing '24 at a discount. As mentioned before, I'm flexible on just about everything except PB, 302a, the tow package, and 7.2 and am looking to bring it home for under $50k. Question is, am I shooting for the moon here with this goal? Also, I'm finding the combo of PB tow and 7.2 to be hard to come by in TX at the moment, any advice of good search methods to find that combo other than the typical car gurus/auto trader/car edge? Any help of advice is appreciated. Thanks

The best strategy I have every used was to just order from @Granger Ford. You can order a '25 at 4% under invoice exactly the way you want. Many of us on this site have had a great experience with Granger, and I my experience was easily the best car buying experience I've ever had.

Thanks for the reply. I'm afraid my budget might not be able to accommodate ordering but I have read several threads where Granger was mentioned positively and will probably reach out to them to see if they have anything in stock that might fit the bill.

I would use the build and price tool on the Ford website and spec out a truck as you'd like to have it. Forward those specs to Chip at Granger Ford and have him give you a price. This way, not only will you know the true cost of what you want, you'll also be able to compare deals locally and see if you can eek out the best deal you can if ordering is not for you. Topic has been covered before. Deals right now are as good as it gets. You should be able to get 10k off and 2.9% for 72 months if you need it.

You will probably be hard pressed to find a 2024 302a PB with tow package that late in the year but search the national websites. There are a few threads here that make mention of this sites if no one replies to post them.

As others have said finding a better price than Grangers 4% below invoice is a difficult task as it is, then finding some "out of this world" bargain on a leftover 302a PB with tow and 7.2Kw, makes for catching lightning in a bottle. It can be done, and others here have caught lightning in a bottle, but it is a rare bird.

Go to the Ford build site and configure a 2025 as you would for your ideal truck. Print that and send it to Granger for a quote. You will see MSRP and Invoice pricing and Grangers 4% below invoice quote. You may be pleasantly surprised and if nothing else it will give you some realistic bargaining numbers when you decide to go searching.

As everyone else has chimed in, spec out your dream vehicle, email @Granger Ford , and see the pricing that they can come up with. I saved ~$13K over the MSRP for my truck. They are incredibly great to work with.

As others have already stated, the pricing currently (employee pricing) is very likely as good as it will get for 2024 models @0o7

As a comparison of likely availability (and pricing), simply look at current availability of new 2023 F150 models on dealer lots. These are often few and far between, and are typically a more generic model - not the highly specific model that you are seeking.

In my area, the significant discounts (essentially employee pricing) began on the remaining 2023 F150 inventory about a month or two prior to similar discounts being offered on 2024 F150s. The discounts on 2023 F150s have not increased since this time.

I was interested in a highly specific (not popular) F150 configuration, that most dealerships did not ever keep in their inventory. For me, special ordering the specific F150 configuration that I wanted was the only option.

As you wait till the end pf a production year the selection is reduced. Supposedly, the best time is Jan or Feb. The selection is very small but dealers need to space for the newer vehicles. Another thing to watch is how long a vehicle sits on a lot. Every 90 days a dealer has to move Inventory or pay taxes on those vehicles. Dealer can easily go upto $2000 under invoice. Back in the 70's it was not uncommon for dealers to advertise their sales as $1 to $2 thousand under invoice. There is always dealer hold back and some states allow the dealers to charge $500 more as additional profit.

I probably wasted 4 months dealing with 10 different Ford dealers in the Phoenix area before contacting Chip at Granger. They simply have a different business model and I ended up purchasing my '24 Lariat from them for 8-10K less than any of the local dealers wanted. Plus, they're good people. My only issue, and it has nothing to do with Granger, is that Ford continues to use a corn/soy based insulation in their wiring harness and the squirrels love it!

Suggested strategy ....

• Get that 2025 Granger quote today, for 'baseline info'
• Commencing today, and then every day, search inventories far-and-wide for the 2024 that meets your 'wants' (2024's are being delivered daily and often snapped-up quickly)
• IF you find that perfect 2024 that beats Granger's 2025 deal ...... jump on it, do not delay in hopes of a better deal on a truck equipped to suit you.
