That hitch -- if we could even call it that. Damn. Not sure why he used a 157" F150 though.

Yeah, that's crazy. It's basically held on with steel sheeting...

Interesting to see the aluminum H beam casting, clearly insufficient. That was a 'simple' ditch like pullout.

Also shows aluminum's propensity to break vs yield.

Someone should make a 'they not like us' meme out of this. I'm not bored or buzzed enough yet.

Both trucks were put through the same abuse sans the final beating which he did wait until tesla just started ignoring him. That's pretty sad -- elon is pretty based, but when it comes to honest takes of the vehicles, tesla can turn into a pouty little itch.

That's terrifying, how are you supposed to haul a camper or anything slightly heavy after seeing how that bumper is attached. I bet the Cybertruck ends up being a flop after the hype wears off.
They set out to build a $50k truck and it appears they succeeded. They're just not yet selling for that. That hitch is woefully inadequate for the task though. Given it can't tow but 90 miles max it's pretty much useless for that task. I'm a bit shocked at just how weak the frame to hitch area is, but at the same time kind of not.

Some things you just have to earn, and building a decent truck is something you can just decide to do unless you're way over doing. Ford and GM have been having their products beat to hell for decades and have lots of examples of areas that need a little extra attention. I'm really surprised given that tesla likely had copies of every modern truck they didn't run the numbers and decide to beef it up. I'd be embarrassed if I had anything to do with the ass of the CT.

In all fairness, no truck I have or will ever have will be subjected to such irrational torture.

I don't think there's a single mainstream mass produced vehicle engineered for such treatment.

Entertaing, I'll admit.
Representative of reliability? Nope, I ain't buying it. Lol

This will be my timid defense as a staunch apologist for anything Elon. The Ford was KO’d with a broken drive shaft just backing off the truck. There is no telling what rear end stress occurred before the CT hitch gave way like a design flaw.
Edit: However, the drive shaft can be replaced. Tig welding a frame back together is comical lol
