You are right. I got a nice truck and should just enjoy it. If I encounter reliability issues in the future, I’ll either make the call to keep it and pay for the repairs or get something else. I’ll pay more overall by getting something else right now and there’s no guarantee it will be more reliable in the long term. I need to stop looking at vehicles in my spare time. Bad habit. Maybe I should start sewing
Felt that brother. I keep seeing the ads for new lariat powerboost and kicking myself in the butt. I'm over it now though, I'll trade if I need the powerboost or if gen 2 is a plugin. Maybe a maverick lobo if that turns out to be a little monster lol

Well, I recently had my 22 Lariat totaled. They gave me a Ram as a rental. I hated the truck. It was not comparable in any way. Yes it was a bare bones laramie..but no real comparison.

If you look far and wide you just might find the same deal on a new Ford. I was lucky enough to pick up a brand new Platinum (23 model with 200 miles on it) for 17k off msrp. That with the addition of my Ford PCO I bought it for 19.5K off sticker. Cheaper than I could buy a brand new Lariat.

I would look for a deal like that. I always seem to get Ford PCO's All I do is request a snail mail brochure in the mail and they come a week or 2 later.

Dude, you make a great point. The fact that I’m looking at anything else in the first place might indicate some level of dissatisfaction with my current vehicle …..

But I think the issue is more with me. At some point, there will always be something newer and/or nicer, but that shouldn’t prevent me from enjoying a great vehicle or to find a justification to get a new one. As a truck enthusiast—which most (if not all) of us in this forum are—when I see a deal for a nice truck, my mind tries to find a way to justify the possibility of getting a new vehicle. I should just enjoy and appreciate what I have.

I am a spoiled ass millennial who grew up in a culture that encourages us to always want more.

Anyways, my Ford is pretty incredible and I’m going to keep it .

I really appreciate everyone’s advice and info.

But if you are asking the question then you aren’t really enjoying it. You want the Laramie interior and Katzkins just won’t get the XLT there for you. If you are asking the decision is made.

I love my 302A PB and wouldn’t consider trading it in on a Ram if the seats had 24k gold stitching. That’s when your sure.

Edit: Now a Ramcharger with gold stitching? ?

Ayala.. I'm in Florida and have a issue with buying from Granger also. In Florida you are restricted from buying online BUT if you can give Granger (love this term lol!) a 'Wet' signature it's perfectly fine/legal
to buy it. No fake out of state address needed and valid nation wide. No Dealership in Florida would discount off MSRP that in my case that was $4,650.00. Granger was a little over half of that number. That's a LOT of money and well worth the trip to Iowa. Call Granger and see how you can legally AND ethnically buy it from them. Higher milage trucks might have to be inspected but even if you had to fly out in the morning and leave in the afternoon back to California the savings might be in the thousands Sir... It's ALL about keeping your truck for years. Dealerships have a wide latitude on repairs time scheduling service and loaner policy. Especially on loaner vehicles. Ford only ENCOURAGES dealerships to provide one. Again for most folks a extended warranty doesn't pay. Most have NO problems at all. But the costs of repairs and parts can absolutely wreck a avarage budget if you are in that small percentage of owners who DO get a 'problem' truck.. or a 'Bad' servicing dealership. And you absolutely cannot argue with the service manger..
Dealer today offered ford ESP for cost plus $1 -- said think about it, offer valid for 3 days.

Start putting some time into self-upgrading your truck and you'll appreciate it more. So long as it's pleasant experience w/ a little hurdle here or there, you'll come to appreciate it more. @ReverendQ has put quite a few weekends into his XLT, transforming the creature comforts and he'd likely 2nd this take.

Hell yeah man!

I’ve done a few minor things to it. Added a decal to the Ford emblem, tailgate lettering, mud flaps, rear well liners, switched the antenna, seat covers, etc. I’m itching to upgrade my sound system and have already found the speakers, woofer, component system that I want.

But I totally agree. The more I make it mine, the more I will love it.

My last 5 trucks were Rams. 2 of them were Hemi's, 3 were Cummins Diesels. All were great trucks with very few issues. I switched to Ford because it was slightly narrower and shorter and I moved to a house with a smaller garage. My Ram didn't fit. The Ford did. I loved my Ram trucks. I Have been happy with my Powerboost Platinum as well. Ram builds a good truck and the Hemis last a long time. The Ford 5.0 seems to last even longer. My sister has a 5.0 with 350k on it and it is still going strong. If the extra creature comforts are desired, switch trucks. You will have a good truck either way.

Ran is coming out with a three seat truck. That will permit us to carry all of our in-laws as well as our own families. Oh happy day!

Very interested in the Ramcharger too. EV for work commute back up generator for longer trips / towing RV. Looks like it could possibly have decent payload / towing figures.

Guessing midlevel (Big Horn) would be around 2,000 lbs payload if max payload is 2,600 lbs?
I'm sure the 2,600 lbs targeted max would be for a Tradesman.

My struggle will be that a mid trim truck will probably be somewhere in the six figures here in Canada... A mid trim gas pot 3/4 ton would be about 25K cheaper if I'm right on the Ramcharger price and 25K would buy a lot of gas.....

This for sure, However I'm going to recommend to everyone with a PB to avoid the Bilstein 6112. I had Hotshot offroad set these up for me on the highest C-clip to achieve a 2" lift in the front and man, you feel every tiny crack, bump, dip, imperfection in the road. Most of the highways around here are concrete, so there are expansion seams every 8-10 feet and the truck now transfers that frequency right into my brain. I'm considering trying the RC Vertex 3" coilovers instead but I can';t seem to find anyone here with a PB that has these to confirm if they ride like shyte or not.

And it will only go a 100 miles towing any significant load. All of those payload, towing, 0-60 times are great but when you start using EV trucks like trucks, they fall flat on their face.

Went F150 in 16 for one main reason here in the Central Wisconsin most all Chevy, GMC, Ram and Toyota's are starting to be rust buckets after about 5 / 6 years.

Keeping one of those above mentioned vehicles 10-20 years here in the Midwest is basically a pipe dream.

15 and 16 Fords now on the lots around here can look rough but don't need wheel well extenders to cover up all of the rust showing through at the top and sides of the wheel wells. Bonus the Fords cab corners are still also solid with no signs of rust bubbles.

Am I a PB fan no been der done dat and will not do it again but as for having a Ford presently drive a 22 XLT 302a 2.7EB payload package vehicle that checks all of the present needs. This is after trading a fully loaded 19 701a Platinum in on a 21 XLT 302a PB.

Stop with the wanting and stay with what is needed.

But if your young and must go do it we will certainly welcome you back along with the reasons why your returned.

After driving Powerboost trucks for 3 years, I can't fathom purchasing a truck by any brand that can't match its utility.
I use the Powerboost for everything it has to offer. I'm still amazed by it.

That's the appeal of the Ramcharger to me. I could still tow 100 miles on EV then the generator kicks in. Most of my RV towing is within 200 miles. So, more than sufficient range with the generator. Get to my destination and there is usually a town with a gas station within a 1/2 hour drive.

We only camp at powered sites so, I may be able to charge up at the camp ground as well.

Again, my biggest hold back is the likely price of the truck.

Since the propulsion method is entirely electric you will always be EV. The vehicle likely has a load management strategy that determines ICE run time for optimal SOC.
