Here is something that is just plain dumb......

What I did find out, at least on my 21 XLT, is to arm the alarm, you have to use the key flob. Locking the truck with the buttons on the door doesn't arm it.
The alarm should eventually arm regardless if the doors are locked or not. Leave the truck unlocked and go out about 30 minutes later and the alarm should go off if a door is unlocked.

If your hands are full of groceries so you can't touch the front door handle to unlock all 4 doors, how would you be able to touch the rear door handle sensor if it had one?

I agree that it might be considered inconvenient to touch one door to gain access to a different door, but for most of my near 70 years being able to unlock any door by simply touching it sounded like science fiction. ???

I count 4 different ways to unlock the doors on these crazy technology packed trucks?

We’re talking about first world problems here.

I still think Ford got it right with the 2019-2023 Ranger Lariat - any of the four doors would unlock/lock all. If you had a pinky available with an arm load of stuff, it would work.

Proof that it can be done but Ford was lazy with the F-150.

It is a first world problem for sure but that is what most of us complain about on here.

Truer words never spoken.

These trucks have an 18,000 page service manual, and that's AFTER it has been filtered for a specific VIN.
Or put another way, it takes 18,000 pages to provide the necessary information to cover the components that make up our truck.

Yet........

Tough crowd sometimes. ??

I too wish all 4 door handles had a sensor. Seriously. It would be even more amazing.
Ford is just 2 or 3 more service manual pages away from building a truck that I could be happy with. Maybe. ?

Compared to my 2011 XLT - This truck is so full of tech - it is a geeks heaven. But a mechanics nightmare sometimes.

But you have always come across as someone who actually likes and enjoys your choice. Even impressed.

I think I'm wearing down after 3 years of forum participation. ??

I had more stamina in the past for all the whining. I for sure had more mercy in my tank. A longer fuse.

It doesn't help that I spend a fair amount of time on the Mach-E forum these days, so I can learn as much from the gurus over there as I have from them here. That place is definitely a glass half empty hang out. Which is crazy since the Mach-E is basically a toy. An elective decision. Why have one if it doesn't make you grin ear to ear everytime you get in it?

I do enjoy my truck and at My age, 71, at the end of August, this computer on wheels with 400 ponies just itching to be let out of the coral on occasion. This will probable be my vehicle I will be buying, shy of being in an accident. I only have 46,000 km (28,500 miles) on a truck that is 38 months old.

I didn't realize you are 71.
That explains so much. ?

At the risk of openly age profiling, I think we older fellas are more likely to marvel at how far we have come? Lol

Yeppers to this ?

My little black door handle lock buttons have never worked from day 1, but I don't feel like sorting them out as I have a keypad on both doors instead... I'm "special" ?

Your truck is very special. :)
Does it unlock the left door or the conversion right door when you enter code?

Thankfully, each pad unlocks the door it's mounted on; just the thought of walking around this beast to the other side has tired me out ?
