But you have always come across as someone who actually likes and enjoys your choice. Even impressed.

I think I'm wearing down after 3 years of forum participation. ??

I had more stamina in the past for all the whining. I for sure had more mercy in my tank. A longer fuse.

It doesn't help that I spend a fair amount of time on the Mach-E forum these days, so I can learn as much from the gurus over there as I have from them here. That place is definitely a glass half empty hang out. Which is crazy since the Mach-E is basically a toy. An elective decision. Why have one if it doesn't make you grin ear to ear everytime you get in it?
This explains a lot.. I have been thinking over the past few weeks that I don't get to enjoy your wisdom as much anymore and wondering what was going on.. I guess you can't be blamed for being distracted by your new toy! ?
I am sure you will find time for this forum too!

I count 5....
Key
Flob
Key pad
Door handle touch
Ford Pass . ..maybe..if it wants to work.
While I understand some owners have had rather negative experiences with their trucks, this truck is nothing short of a dream... 5 ways to unlock the truck and we all, including me, wish for something different... Sensors on the back door handles.. If we had that, I would want the truck to auto lock as I walked away.. If I had that.. Then...

At the end of the day, this is a truck that moves us places and does this PB move.. In most other automobiles, there is a pause / lag between the time you press on the gas pedal (gently or hard) and things happening.. In the PB, regardless of the speed you are at or the gear, the truck moves faster immediately when you press gas.. Puts a smile on my face every time..

Add to that 5 ways to unlock my truck and run AC without the engine running.. Power for the house...and all the other things..
I am happy.. Very happy ??

Oh my goodness! Seriously?
Perhaps the owners don’t include as many enthusiasts as I envisioned.

First world problems indeed ?

no issues here, locking via the small black pad or unlocking by grabbing the handle. Truck is set to unlock/lock all doors. Rarely use the keypad. Like the Gen13 trucks, I grab a front door handle before opening the rear door to unlock it. Wish all handles were touch active. Ford cheaped out on the 150. I think the expedition has touch handles on all 4 doors.

In my opinion, the biggest downer on the Mach-E forum is that there's a fair percentage of owners that don't drive one because it's crazy fun to drive an electric slot car.

Rather, THEY are driven.

It's my kryptonite. Drains me of life. Lol

The lock buttons on the front doors are not useless, but they can be damn frustrating . Works, doesn't work, no rhyme or reason. Here is another comparison between different manufacturers. My former 2011 Volvo Wagon had soft touch buttons on all four doors and you could grab any door handle and give it a tug and it would unlock and open, of course if you had the key on you. My wife's 2016 Volvo Suv has the same four buttons, but it will only unlock the front doors with a tug.
My point is if one manufacturer has this capability and remember Volvo was owned by Ford when my 2011 was built, then why couldn't have Ford simply copied it.

We all get tired and jaded at times, it's what makes us human! Sit back, take a break, unplug from the world, it's good for the soul!

Does anyone know why the door lock buttons on the handles are so hit-and-miss? Mine either work right with a gentle tap, or I could be standing there in the parking lot pushing full force looking like an idiot and they do nothing. The ones on my 2016 Lariat were MUCH better and worked every time with a soft touch. It's so inconsistent that I can't ever use them reliably and have taken to using the bottom two door code buttons to lock it every time.
Hello! Send us a private message with your VIN and current mileage. Allow me to see what I can do to assist. Thanks!

I actually never responded appropriately regarding the black buttons on the 2 doors. But another post pretty much represented my experience with them as well.

As long as I pause or take a casual pace, the button works consistently. But if I rush, I do sometimes get ignored. At which I instantly use the two finger touch of the C-pillar pad.

It would be nice if the response time of the black button matched the response time of the handle sensor that unlocks the doors. That sensor is nails every time.

And admittedly, I would love it if the truck supported phone-as-a-key and/or the walk-away-lock feature. Both are enjoyed on the slot car. ?

Until this thread I thought the little square black buttons were for a different trim level because they never seemed to do anything ??‍♂

When the last door I close is on the passenger side I reach in my pocket and use the fob. It’s degrading to have to do that when all eyes are on the obvious VIPs and their beautiful truck so I pretend it’s a secret arming code thing. C’mon Ford!

If you think about it...as you approach the truck, it senses the fob in your pocket and sets the door handles to scan for a your hand. It takes you a couple of seconds from the time the fob is detected for you to reach for the door handle. About the same time you have to wait to lock the door with the button on the handle.

On my truck, I hear things clicking as I approach. Truck is waking up, and so is the door lock system.

Just my thoughts.

You are likely correct, but standing there waiting for the handle to realize I closed the door to lock the doors with the fob right there in my pocket is a fail.
I could see a delay without the fob, but not with it.

Only considered a delay for the tiniest fraction of a percentage of the history of mankind. Very recent. Lol

I do willingly admit it IS a delay.
But it's also a reminder. To me.
Breath.
