Delays are a feature.
My 2011 I could double tap the fob start button as fast as I wanted for remote start. My 2021 I have to tap-pause-tap on the fob or it will never start.

First world problems but it did take time to get used to it. Just as it takes time to remember to wait two seconds before using the black handle lock button. :)

This is the issue I have noticed with trying to lock the door from the handle on my 23 vs my 17. The 17 I could do it right after shutting the door. On the 23 I have to count to 5. I dont have the patience for that so I push the keypad buttons to lock.

Does anyone know why the door lock buttons on the handles are so hit-and-miss? Mine either work right with a gentle tap, or I could be standing there in the parking lot pushing full force looking like an idiot and they do nothing. The ones on my 2016 Lariat were MUCH better and worked every time with a soft touch. It's so inconsistent that I can't ever use them reliably and have taken to using the bottom two door code buttons to lock it every time.
Kind of like the other Ford parts, sometimes they work, sometimes they break. There is no rhyme or reason I have decided. We are the product testers. We spent the big bucks to get there.....

I have times mine several times since this thread started. A casual 1001,1002 is all it takes for mine to work.

Casual just means it's an unrushed 2 seconds, which is probably a stopwatch 3 seconds.

Certainly less than 5 though.

I got tired of waiting on the black buttons too... so I just push 7/8 + 9/0 at the same time on the keypad... works every time.
