Only 23 models?Small (new) GWM update is out for 23s.
Not sure on other years. I have a 23.Only 23 models?
For now, yes...only 2023 and 2024.Only 23 models?
VIN? What sync version is your truck on?Need help!
I bought a 2021 F-150 a couple weeks ago and noticed it doesn’t get OTA updates. I Followed the guide and started updating some stuff successfully. I got everything done except BCM and IPMA. BCM shows the message I need to sign in with a safety authorized account and the IPMA update failed after 10+ hours and is not in the update list anymore. Now I have a bunch of DTCs for GWM, SCCM, IPMA… and a bunch of warnings for collision assistant.
I already tried to fix the stuck OTA update following the TSB but it fails when trying to program the GWM.
I tried PMI for the IPMA like suggested from Jesse-Infotainment after a failed update in another thread but there is an error as well.
I’m using all the suggested adapters and power supply.
Edit: The APIM update didn’t work either/ doesn’t recognize the USB stick. Probably due to the stuck OTA updates?
VIN: 1FTEW1EP4MKD50158VIN? What sync version is your truck on?
Yea, you're on Sync 20301. Even with that TSB, there is maybe a 10% success rate that you'll be able to update the APIM. That's the bad broken software from 2020 that vehicles got stuck on and needed a new APIM to get past that Sync version. When it shows blank on the vehicle, you can only see if with PTS.VIN: 1FTEW1EP4MKD50158
Not sure on the version, settings/ about sync is blank. Can I see that somewhere in FDRS or FORScan?
update: most of the DTC’s cleared after letting the truck sit for 1h.
I’m still stuck on the APIM update but I will drive around with the stick for some time.
I’m also debating on trying the TSB 22-2404 again to fix the OTA and USB problem
I will try this for a month, hopefully I get lucky as I tried the TSB and it didn’t work.Stubbornly leave the USB stick in. At least for up to a month. That would be the equivalent of at least 60 key cycles, right?
I would love to see that approach have success for you. It certainly did for quite a few "back in the day"![]()
I can’t believe it! I was just moving the truck down the driveway and boom!I'm rooting for you.
What's a month after the APIM being stuck there for years? ?
I don't know why I'm so optimistic about the approach, but I think it's because I could say that it worked for everyone that didn't give up? ?
I mean, I don't think I know of a single person who still is driving around with one waiting, afterall.
Yes turn off, leave driver door open, wait 10 mins, and then crank the truck back up and wait for it to tell you to take it out.I can’t believe it! I was just moving the truck down the driveway and boom!![]()
let’s hope everything goes well after this!
Just to make sure, when it prompts I turn ignition off and leave the door open for 10min correct? Then remove when prompted.

Page 880 of the FDRS thread and what we learned 3 years ago still works to unlock these stuck 21's. I remember waiting two weeks for my truck to update. And poor tonesto7's truck took a month!Shortest month ever!
Power of positive thinking. ?
Do you have any clue how many APIM were/have been replaced because........
