@Kshort62 post a picture of this screen. Much depends on your typical driving habits including distances driven, aggressiveness, grades, towing, and idling.

I’m cruising at 74 because I’m early for work and left to my own devices would be doing 80+ on this stretch of Floridas turnpike ?

I know it's right after a fill up but it is fun to see. Normal avrage is 23.5 to 25.

It never gets old

I think if OP drove his 17 miles more often his numbers would jump up. Nothing but 3 mile trips is the most likely explanation for the poor mileage reporting.

Not at all true. I can do a fillup and head out on a 300 mile round trip at 55 mph with occasional slowing to 30 mph going through rural towns and cruise control on 95% of the way and see 20 mpg at the end of the trip. I'm talking flat farm country, too, so there is no turboboost in any of the travel to degrade the fuel efficiency. There is just a huge variation from truck to truck in fuel efficiency and the only thing I can imagine that accounts for the variation is the condition of the high voltage battery pack. It would be interesting to run a poll of all the Powerboost owners to see what percentage of owners fall below the 23 mpg rating.

I often do a similar run and speed as stated above in my normal 3.5 and average 29 to 30 at the end of the trip. I can't image a Powerboost not being able to do the same if not better.

Here is my most recent data: Mar 22, 2024

My previous 2019 3.5 EB averaged 18.5-19MPG until I hit 50K miles when it dropped to 16.5 and I got rid of it.

I toyed with going to the PowerBoost next, but I think I will keep my plain 3.5 EcoBoost. That is awful mileage IMHO. Are you stock?
Pure stock, no lift, no level, no tune and only aftermarket are OEM wheel well liners, OEM mud flaps, Folding tonneau cover, and hood deflector. Factory wheels and Michelin LTX M/S which are 7# lighter than the Pirelli Scorpion AT that it came with.

Wow. So sorry, man. Something doesn't seem right.

Dead of winter perhaps? Because if I could muster the self control to drive 55mph for 300 miles here in Florida I would be pushing 30mpg no question. This morning at 66mph with the cruise control on the truck used the HVB to maintain speed. It would charge to slow then discharge to speed up (alternate green then blue) over and over while RPM remained constant and the boost gauge never moved off zero.

You might be on to something if your HVB is primarily charging it drags your ICE down via the traction motor.

It might be too hilly here for me to notice that interplay but one thing that really makes me grin, is not only can the ICE charge the HVB and the brakes but inertia. Most easily noticed when using cruise and going down a hill but it does it whether using cruise or not. You can be in electric mode and charging, at the same time.

I'm not sure that it deserves "next level" type designation but it IS a third method of charging and that just sorta trips my trigger that it can do that.

Yes! When I come off the Expressway the engine shuts off and the HVB charges while I coast down to 40mph then I drive electric for a mile or so trying to keep the momentum going lol. Love that!
