This dash looks just like my wife's 2024 Escape dash with the same 13.2" screen which has wireless Apple Car Play and Android Auto and is Sync 4.

Same steering wheel and buttons too.

Yes, both my F150 and her Escape show Google Maps.

I meant like the actual map on the instrument cluster, not the directions when you are approaching an exit

I don't use Android Auto in her Escape so not sure how to get it to show on the instrument panel. I am driving it tomorrow to detail it so I will cycle through the options on the IP to see if the map shows. Maybe because I was sitting in the driveway it showed the turn onto the street.

They've essentially said it's not sync while going on to describe sync. That makes no sense. The difference is that they're using android as the OS and baking some of android's apps in natively, but at the same time the mach-e has similar apps and is sync. It's got youtube and games as well.

Someone on one of the forums basically said sync 5 is now the FDE. So they're dropping the sync name, but it's the new hardware.

You'll have a friend. While it feels less "manly" to have a turn knob I absolutely hate the stupid stick shifter they put in with their stupid gimmick to lay it down (but only while parked).

I think the point is a lot of people hate the folding shifter on the F-150 and want the knob to free up the space wasted by a gimmick.

I agree it is space wasting, and the folding feature was really only a benefit to the units that had the folding work surface, which I do. I don't particularly have a problem with it except of course it is one more failure point.

My Wife has the same gearshift knob setup on her Edge. The dog steps on the "auto park" button every time he moves between the seats...

Look at the 2024 Nautilus dash, that's what the Explorer should look like.

Don’t mind our current shifter and don’t mind if it changes. Not like it’s a manual so you aren’t interacting with it much either way.
