2025 Explorer gets new 13.2 Google based infotainment system and apparently it has the ability to view Apple and Google maps on the instrument cluster.

What are the chances that our Sync4 systems can be easily upgraded to this? Do you think the 2025 F-150 may come with this new system instead of Sync4?

I don't know if it can be done, but I would be first in line to factory order one once this happens.

I am wildly speculating here, but my guess would be 26 gets the upgrade,, I noticed that on parts.ford.com they updated a lot of parts to say fits 21-25, could just be they don't want to update every year or it could be some foreshadowing on their part.

Wishful thinking has me hoping for a redesign for the 26 MY to keep it competitive on paper with the Ram design etc.

That interior sucks....i hate the "we just stuck a tablet in the dash" look. Lazy design. Make it looks like it belongs for f sake.

The good thing about this is Ford will support Android Auto and Carplay and their own Android based platform. GM decided to ban Carplay and Android Auto. Will be interesting to see if they backpedal on that.

I'm just jealous the steering wheel has a mute button still unlike our trucks. I am not super crazy about the interior but it is a marked improvement over the outgoing model imho.

Sync 5 that they tested for the FCC had the same plugs on it. Chinese mach-es were promised sync 5 so if they can get it, hopefully we can too. Ford is bad at not upgrading parts mid-run so I suspect we'll see the 10yr old sync 4 brain go into the 2025 F150s unless they start putting it on the 15" screens this year.

More pics. At least the phone charger is convenient. Doesn't make up for the poor dash layout though

RGB LEDs are back finally -- surprised no footwell illumination. Instead its going to be lighting up people's knees? Might be distracting.

Reminds me a lot of the mach-e -- they changed around the location of the buttons on the left wheel area though. LKA / Cruise buttons are mirrored now. The eye camera is much different. It's taller and has a different IR LED array?
