Power-Up 6.5.0 Installed

Anyone have the issue with the truck and the app not on same page? My ford app says 6.3.0 was last update but truck shows 6.4.0 is the last update.

This is the first update I’ve really had any trouble with. Truck downloaded 6.4.0 the other day no problem.

Now it keeps saying that it’s trying to install 6.5.0 but every time something has interrupted it. It says it whether or not I let it update on its own at 1 AM or if I try to force it to. I’ve tried all the silly stuff like hiding my phone in the microwave, etc.

6 5 0 requires that the vehicle be inhibited for about 20 minutes to install. The most likely reason your getting continued failures would be due to a low battery SOC. There's a couple of things you can try.
One is to take the truck for a long ride say 45 minutes to an hour, then park the truck, go to settings and say install now. You will then have 2 minutes to exit the truck, Then hop out, lock the truck and walk away. Don't worry about hiding your phone it has nothing to do with it.
Secondly you can charge your battery overnight and try the install after its fully charged.
For more detailed information you can contact @rugedraw during daytime hours and he will be able to check what's going on if you provide him your vin number.

Go to FordPass - Vehicle - Features and Settings - Software Update - Recent Changes

That should show what your truck shows.

Got 6.5.0 a few days ago but took a battery charge to get it go due to the cold. Immediately got a priority update that took about 1/2 hr.

Mine did this a few times. Was low state of charge on the battery (65%) probably due to the cold. Charged it and it went the next time.

Truck says 6.4

rugedraw was able to confirm 6.4 was installed. FP is short on being very helpful. Don’t know why it can’t talk directly with the truck to give real time info such as this as opposed to waiting for ford to push it out…..

Well, I have not experienced that yet. I have been getting no messages at all for updates in the 6+ series. I suppose next step would be getting out of sync with the truck as you are now.

its as if ford forgets to push a message and latest update info to FP. the software version should come from the truck to the app and your in sync. at least be able to do a version query from the app that pulls the info from the truck.

i tried to force the download this morning after arriving to work and i dont know if it went through or not. btw its update 6.5.0

Mine did the same thing. I forgot which version (I think it was going from 6.2 to 6.3, might have been 6.4), but phone app didn't give notification and was showing one version behind the truck. It eventually synced up once the next update came. I just got 6.5.0. yesterday.

I wouldn't worry about it. It'll probably sync up. They are doing a lot of updates to a lot of vehicles right now so it's likely just an update issue with their servers not syncing all the changes right away. Just a wild guess.

I've learned to ignore and not trust any info from FP, my truck randomly shows its back in Dearborn on the app.
