I think the $600 for 3 years is outrageous. I would pay $100 a year, one year at a time.
Could we all get together and boycott their pricing concept? The original prep price should be good for something.

Are other manufacturers doing the same thing?
Tesla premium connectivity is $10 per month or $100 per year, Ford's price isn't even competitive

I received the same notice. I gave this forum thread more attention than the notice. No way in hell am I paying them, I’m tired of all the nannies on the truck already.

Hell, I might pay them to stop bitching at me to keep my hands on the wheel, even though my hands are always on the fucking wheel. If I drive too straight for too long, the truck gets pissed off, and that pisses me off.

I’d pay the $600 for the current functionality for 3 more years. That’s $17/month and quite reasonable in my opinion. I use BC quite a bit and it’s really nice for those drives home where I’m tired.

I’d also be willing to bet BC 1.2/1.3 gets pushed to the 2021s. Just doesn’t make sense for them to be excluded plus they are pushing all the pre-reqs to the trucks right now.

Tesla's pricing is radically different. BC 1.3 sits roughly where this option is and the pricing is what it is...

Both are a ripoff vs what's available for fixed price ala C3x

I'm a neat freak and I was tempted to renew for the $600. Why? Just because. I rarely use it but I'd like to have it available when I want it.

But it's non-transferrable, so in case I might sell my truck it's not a selling point. It's just lost money. And after 14 days it's non-cancellable so even if you cancel it just keeps working until the end of your billing period. And you have to renew connected services, which you can get better with your cell phone. So WTF.

So it's really not set up to be user friendly, it's a one way street. If I'm on a long road trip I might use the $75 plan, but there's no point in the 3 year plan.

Do you mean you have to renew connected navigation? Where did you see that?

I'm so excited. Waiting on my cx3. Watching it ping pong back and forth between my town and San Diego is excruciating. I would love to tell "hey Alexa go get my truck" I know OP is not there yet. At least not for us peasants following the work of big brains.

It’s in the Ford Pass under Connected Services. It came with 3 years of service. I’m not sure what will happen at the expiry date, but presume it will turn out like BC where it becomes a FORD cash cow where you will pay for the service. Although, it might mean only losing map updates and the service continues; which is more likely the case. I rarely use it so it won‘t Be an issue either way for myself.

You have a 21 so you might have real navigation like I do and that can still work without connected option. Connected gives you traffic data and updated maps. It is supposed to still work without that but it will be dumb navigation with no map updates. From what I've read it won't work with voice anymore either. I use it often so I'll see what happens when mine expires in May. I'm usually off somewhere and tell the truck to "take me home." Not that I need it to go home, but the traffic data has been useful. I can use AA but I don't like that it cooks my phone and sucks the battery down more in 15 minutes than I do with all day usage.

Connected Nav and BlueCruise are both “connected services”. You make it sound like you have to also pay for/have Connected Nav if you pay for/want BlueCruise to work. As far as I know, that is not the case.

I didn't actually say that, but here's the official wording.

Your BlueCruise Connected Service term with regular map updates begins on service start date. To continue service, a new connected service plan must be purchased.

Here's the whole paragraph

Your BlueCruise Connected Service term with regular map updates begins on service start date. To continue service, a new connected service plan must be purchased. Plans are subject to change. See your Ford Account for terms and details. Service and features depend on compatible AT&T network availability. Evolving technology/cellular networks/vehicle capability may limit functionality and prevent operation of connected features. Failure to regularly update could result in BlueCruise being unavailable.

When the BC 3yr ends, it just turns into how it operates while not on the mapped highways, basically lane centering radar cruise.
