To answer your other question: Yes, OTA updates can address issues. The descriptions in the release notes are often vague in terms of what the updates actually do.
OTA 4.3.4 is known for failing due to low battery SOC and that is the case with you. There is nothing wrong with your truck....maybe the battery. Error code reads:
Same update as above, and it failed repeatedly for the same reason. At this point, the OTA trigger expired, so you'd have to wait for it to be re-sent to you to try again.
I see I looked up your truck before, but I have learned a bit since the last time I looked at it. A dealer performed some module updates in April/May of 2022 that coincide with BC activation, but they did not do all of them. I see no CMR, PSCM or CCM updates done which are imperative for BC to work. They did update the IPC which took them 5 hours, so they saved you that headache. I would have to check your truck with FDRS when I get home to confirm. Screenshot below shows the dealer looked at the updates, but never tried to do them. That is why the text on these updates is black and not blue like the ones they did do. The update you got in September brought you up to Sync 23159, and you were sent another OTA on November 1st that is OTA 2.6.0 which is VERY old and your truck rejected it (rightfully so).
rugedraw, you nailed it. It took a full charge with the trickle charger and then the BMS reset. The sequence being accessory power only, Headlight toggles, and brake toggles to reset the BMS (and subsequently the blinking battery icon on the console). Thank you very much for the debugging help on this OTA challenge!

This truck is fine as far as OTA's go. It is on Sync 23031. The last OTA it got was in September which failed due to low battery charge, but this truck is well past the OTA hell-hole.

I believe that the dealer that updated your truck updated it too much without doing other updates that needed to be done beforehand. I think they only way you will get the updates you are missing are to do it for yourself with FDRS. I recommend you get on the list to borrow one of mine if you don't want to spend almost $600 on buying one. While it is possible that you may get the updates you are missing via OTA, I would not do them. I doubt the dealer can help now for various reasons.
