CV Axle Leaking Dif Fluid…Again

Truck being towed to shop tomorrow. This will make a third attempt for repair of the same issue. I’m at a loss…thoughts from anyone?

Very interesting. I don't think mine looks like that with the sloppy sealant, but I don't necessarily think that represents a problem if it's not leaking.

grey is usually high temperature gasoline resistant type, so that’s good anyway!

I had a PS axle seal leak and a transfer case output shaft seal leak.

I believe I used 4 cans of 3M Brake Clean to take care of the residual fluid. The mechanics don't care to do cleanup, etc.
