Today, I noticed there is a recall issued for my VIN at https://www.ford.com/support/recalls/ and I wonder if anybody received the same recall notice and fixed the issue. I just want to know how long the fix will take as my local dealers won't provide me a loaner for this.

I'm in North NJ and I have 2023 XLT PB. When I called two local dealerships, the closest dealership told me that they need to order a part and replace it with no ETA. However, they denied to give me a loaner as I didn't purchase the truck from them. The second dealership told me they would give me a loaner but this specific recall isn't entitled for a loaner and they don't offer a shuttle service. The service advisor sounded like he didn't know much about this recall and told me I need to bring my truck in for an inspection which would take about a half day to determine if my truck need this recall or not although I told him that this recall is listed under my VIN, and he even said they just need to fix it if needed with a zip tie. That's when I said Thanks but no thank you and hung up.
Last time I brought my truck in to replace a bad turbo, they kept coming up with an excuse and kept my truck over 2 weeks when promised me that it would be fixed in two days. I really hate my local dealerships and I will only bring my truck for recall services.

I'm still waiting for the windshield wiper recall parts. They said I'm on the list last January...

Shitty dealers. I bought mine from a totally different dealer than where I had the recalls performed and they got me a rental, no problem. My buddy just had his truck repaired but it was warranty issues that took a month to fix and they supplied him with a loaner. No questions asked and he bought the truck from a different dealer over 100 miles apart. I’d say your local dealers are shit bags and I’d let them know that you certainly didn’t t buy from them……..and will never buy from them. But that’s me

I received a notice yesterday from Car Fax, but nothing yet from Ford. I had the truck in for a shifter problem, a headlight switch problem, and they also did the wiper motor, however had to order a headlight switch. That was over 2 weeks ago and no sign the parts have arrived for the headlight switch replacement yet. Ford really needs to do a better job of testing and exaluating the component parts and parts manufacturers. All these recalls inconvenience and piss off the owners, as well as costing them millions or even billions of dollars every year.

The recalls also make us question the quality and overall integrity of our vehicles.

What was your shifter issue? I’m having some weird shifting where I come from a park or D position on the shifter and it doesn’t want to hit reverse for some reason

Mine was the samer type of issue. It seemed like there was an extra "notch" between Park and Reverse. It was difficult to tell what gear you were actually in. They told me they reset it. It has been fine ever since. Good Luck with yours.

Many have checked for themselves (2 minutes) and decided to avoid the pain & suffering of dealing with a dealership

Long discussion:

Bureaucracy approach to even the simplest procedure
yes the bean counters will win... at what would take a competent TECHNICIAN about 15 mins to fix with normal shop supplies, no new part or kit..remember when techs were allowed to "adjust" things during routine service so vehicle kept going

I gave my bracket a gentle nudge with a crowbar as someone else did. problem solved.
took this old man longer to get back up off the ground then the whole procedure of pulling the wire off the mount and bending it.
