Normally, when I think about it, I turn that annoying thing off.
Occasionall, I neglect to do so.
Today was one of those days.
Stop at a light, engine shuts off, light turns green, truck won’t restart.
Message pops up—put in park and restart engine.
This is not acceptable on any level at any time.

This crap ever happen to anyone else??
Might be time to shut that (annoying) feature off for good.
ForScan or the added harness in the dash.

Hey there. I can look into your F-150’s auto start/stop concerns on my end if you’d like. Will you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership info?

Is that something you added? Did you modify the wiring harness and now it doesn't work properly?

My Powerboost doesn't have an auto start/stop that I'm aware of.

Check your window sticker for the line: AUTO START-STOP REMOVAL.
My 2022 didn't come with it.

Hate that thing too. And when I forget (rarely, but it happens), it shuts off and not even a tenth of a second later the light changes to green. I almost purchased the harness probably 1000 times in the last year and a half. I will not disable it in Forscan for sure, too damn cheap to buy the harness. One day I will.
Group buy, maybe?! ;)

Good point. It might have been a rare "fortunate" delete.
The PB still does it by itself though kind of. In normal it switches to electric at lights etc. and then the ICE starts depending on throttle input or temperature or HVB SOC.
ECO is more of the same. In sport mode the ICE shuts off but starts up when I lift off the brakes. I think in tow/haul mode the ICE stays running but it's been awhile. I haven't towed yet.

My 2021 has it and I think it wears out the engine over time. When a vehicle is started there is no oil pressure at first which, I believe, causes extra wear. My dads 2023 did not come with auto start stop, due to chip issues maybe. I put in a start stop eliminator in mine and it works great. I can still turn it off and on but it remembers how I had it last and puts it in that position when the truck is started. Easy install, plugs into the back of the switch.

I'm just not bothered by it in the PB like I am with my other vehicles. The AC keeps blowing cold it goes ICE/Traction when I ask it.

Just curious your reason for not disabling with Forscan. Is there a particular downside to this?
I am not aware of a downside, I am just not sure I like what it does in order to disable it. From what I understand it sends "steering wheel movement" signals which prevents the auto start/stop. The simplest and optimal solution IMO is a mechanical one. Either it is on or off. The harness basically "remembers" the last state of the button.

same truck approaching 34k on the clock.
have only had a couple of small issues with it, and quite happy as well.
Still need to get it in for the wiper issues ( they work, but the arms slip and starts hitting the A pillar), and the wiper assy cover is lifting in the middle at the seam

Luckily, it was an available delete on my 23, this has always been a terrible idea in my opinion. Something a manufacturer would never do if they were not forced to do it for sure.

My wife's Jeep has it, we used to get the occasional "put in park" and hope you don't get killed at the light warning. Sitting at a light that has turned green is begging for a crash. Dealer replaced start/stop battery. When that battery died, we never replaced it. She has a warning on the dash but the start/stop feature no longer works with the dead start/stop battery. We've learned to love it.
