Looking for a replacement engine air filter. Someone mentioned AEM 28-20385 as a drop in replacement. Any suggestions??
This is for 21’PB.
Thank you

I used a Fram air filter at my 25K oil change due to availability, but changed back to the ford OEM motorcraft at my 30K mile service. Honestly, the truck sounds better with the OEM filter, and I believe that it has a better filtration % than most aftermarket solutions.

I changed mine to AEM 28-20385 back in March(I have 23 XLT PB). Honestly, I haven't noticed any sound changes compared to the OEM filter. It also has to do with warm weather but mine's MPG has been improved to about 23-26MPG overall. I even often hit 27-29 in 15-20 mile drives which surprised me a lot because I didn't buy this truck for MPG. It still doesn't like 1-3 mile short drives only with 11-13MPG but recently, I tried to remote starts the truck for about 3-5 minutes to warm it up and to maximize to electric only driving in short drives. I haven't noticed any changes in power or response to a gas input.

Wix 49883. Project Farm on YouTube has a pretty good comparison of filter brands.

Put cheap filter in my old truck on trade and kept the AEM. Haven't put it in yet but I'll get round to it.

Where do you buy the oem motorcraft filters online?

Personally I use NAPA gold air filters. I have done quite a bit of testing on my off-road truck that sees a lot of dust and am impressed with it's filtering.
K&N is only for the street, if you hate your engine or maybe for the sticker to put on your window lol.

No they are not. All they do is let in more dirt. And you are not going to get a performance increase either.

I cant believe people buy into the marketing.

An oiled K&N can be better, but in most cases they aren't. They often get over oiled or not cleaned properly. For the amount of hassle involved in using one, it's easier to just get a standard paper filter.
