Not something I would want. I have a keypad if I need to get in. I don't need my phone battery getting drained by FordPass.

While phone as a key wouldn't be something I would shun, there ARE low hanging fruit conveniences that are missing that I personally desire far more.

Example: Return FordPass features that were extended/enhanced with a direct connection to the vehicle. (Bluetooth)
Things like the remote control of ProPower Generator mode and real-time current draw information.

I understand the limitations of a cloud connection with FordPass (cellular). But Ford started to develop and did include features in FordPass that leveraged the ability of a Powerboost being on while parked. Since the truck is actually energized, FordPass could be connected point-to-point via Bluetooth. It was brilliant and had barely gotten started, when suddenly they reversed course and pulled the plug on the whole concept.

So much for "electrification" ??

The link is still there on my fordpass but it is tutorial in nature, not functional.

Yea. And that's actually embarrassing, if you think about it. How many versions/builds of FordPass has to be compiled and released before just one person on the team asks "shouldn't we edit the interface to match the current feature list?"

Ford's software development has all the hallmarks of being way too big and not close-to-home. The disconnect is HUGE.

Won't work on our trucks, Jesse has pointed out the systems are totally different, and we are missing the hardware.

I can't understand why it's not possible to know if the truck is locked or not thru the app
Shouldn't that be part of the "status" ?
Cloud based approach would require the truck to upload it's locked status to the server(s) at every state change. I don't know if Ford has these trucks configured for using all the necessary resources required for that upload at that frequency.

Keep in mind that you CAN get that status (locked/unlocked) using the Ford Widget App written by a fellow inmate. But even he states in his app that if the user enables too frequent a "refresh", the 12V battery SOC might suffer.

There used to be a way you can tell if the truck is unlocked or the windows are open via FordPass script widget from @tonesto7. If you haven’t tried it before, you’re straight out of luck now because Ford somehow closed that loophole so now that widget is obsolete.

All is not dead... I'm waiting for my API key to access the Ford API... I was supposed to get it last week,
but Ford did layoffs and almost the entire department working on the API was let go.

Once they release the API to public we can all use our own keys to use with the widget

That’s actually great news! Can’t wait! Absolutely love that widget, hopefully it be updated for iOS 17 that’s releasing in a month or two?
