I was wondering, is there a way to have the camera on the mirrors turn on when you turn on your turn signal? Is there a feature or setting that allows them to turn on?

For example, I flick the left turn signal and the driver side camera comes on for 3-5 seconds then turns off.

If it’s possible to do it without forscan, that would be awesome!

My 2016 accord had this feature, but just for the passenger side since that was the only side that had a camera. And my wife’s Telluride has that feature. It’s really nice to check your blind spots when changing lanes.

The feature is in the APIM asbuilt but the SCCM module firmware doesn’t seem to send the event for the turn signals.

Yea, I turned the option on via forscan…no luck though.

There's a whole bunch of features regarding the cameras that can be played with. We're playing with chatGPT 4 here right now and I hope to be able to collect various vehicle data files from forscan with full labels and have the ai sort through spreadsheets looking for differences while we teach it what the values do.

It should be really easy for someone to import a forscan file and it report back the exact changes that need made.

I mean really you just need the VIN of a SD that you know has the trailer turn signal function that works, download the AB files for it and compare. You don’t need a whole bunch of trucks to have AI compare for you. I’m fact, people have already posted what values they think need to be changed:
  • trailer turn signal view
    • IPMA
      • 706-01-02: 3xxx xxxx xx
    • APIM
      • 7D0-02-03: xxxx x8xx xx (or C)
      • reset APIM under wrench icon
But I have yet to see where someone has them hooked up a trailer and tested. I will at some point, but it will be a few months before my trailer is out and available.

Thats actually the correct values to change. I have had this for a few months but had to update my IPMA software to a 23. You have to have a trailer connected or a light plugged into the trailer connector with enough voltage draw for it to work. I used an old Rigid Industries pod light to test. With your truck being a 23 it may just be forscan changes for you.

Thanks. On the APIM do you know if it an 8 or a C?

And are you saying this might not work on a 21? I have a fleet truck I also want to enable this on, but it’s a 21.

The Ai is so someone can take a file from forscan and drag and drop to get a response as to what variables they need to change to match their truck. It's not a project in itself -- it's just something else to do with it. I've already got it working on a dataset (technical details) for products that are my own patented design and it's more accurate than me in that when I'm tired details get fuzzy. This thing interacts with customers without issue. I'm broadening its applicability.

You'll be able to take the file from any vehicle and see any number of variables like what's different, what's new, etc....

When you add it to the APIM, It should be under Driver Assistance. There is a toggle for Trailer Side View.

With the sync updates, are new variables starting to pop up or are they limited to the 23 APIMs?

Yeah. Updates should be getting folks caught up to 23 stuff. the big stuff really is the APIM, GWM and IPMA.
