I am averaging 17.8-18 mpg on my morning commute currently. 40 min , mix of 35mph-55mph zones. This is after a speedo recalibration with forscan and based on Fords onboard calculations. In stock trim I was averaging 19-19.3 mpg on this same drive. It would be worth a hand calc to validate.

Wow, that’s impressive with the weight of those tires. I may have missed it, but don’t see Ecoboost or Powerboost badge on your truck, so assuming you have the 5.0L? Have heard they aren’t as picky with losing MPG with larger tires.

I have been driving in eco mode lately and do notice a difference, so I’ll probably drive in eco most of the time.

Any idea on MPG on interstate 75-ish MPH? I’m at like 16-17 on interstate. ?

can you please walk me through the rear blocks you have? The stock 4x4 blocks are 1.5” correct? And what is the total height of your new blocks?

My 4x4 157 502a with 2.5 level up front running 35x12.5x17 has my MPG around 16-17 mix of highway and street .
Question for you guys is i know my speed so off , so does that mean my MPG meter is also off because of the wrong speed it thinks im going ?

It has been my experience with every vehicle I have leveled/lifted and put bigger tires on that the speed and mpg are off from factory tire size. After correcting (in Fords case with forscan) it corrects the speed and fixes the mpg. After this correction the mpg improves from before the correction, but obviously will still be less than factory mpg.

I have 295/70/18s Recon Grapplers on stock 18s with a level , no trim or rub and lost 1 mpg. The larger wheel does understate your MPG, miles driven and DTE. A little arithmetic results in them being 5.6% understated, correcting for that I lost about 1 mpg. This is on 3.5 EB Crew 4x4

Yes , from what I could tell, Speedo, Miles to E, and MPG are all understated with oversized tires until you recalibrate tire size module. I dropped to 16 +/- mpg on 34" tires until I recalibrated with forscan.

I'll post photos next week once the rain clears, although it isn't anything spectacular, but I added the Nitto Recon 285/ 45 R22s to my stock Limited. For the first time in my life I didn't jack up a truck and tried to stick with stock sizing. It came down to functionality, spare tire compatibility, maintaining ride quality, fitting in my garage, decent mpg & and all the weird sensors this truck has. I do drive on beaches and go snow skiing, and occasionally deal with boat ramps, however I don't offroad at all so really extra ground clearance is just an aesthetic choice for me with no practical advantages.

Basically, the swap from the stock General's to AT tires did one thing I expected but maybe I didn't realize it would be this noticeable, but road noise definitely increased. It is a rainy day, in fact my first heavily rainy day since I purchased this truck, so maybe the road noise is not as bad as it currently seems on a dry clear day. On edit: Going to say that I can hear the freeway from my office very loudly today. Thinking the rain is really adding a bunch of noise. Will report back on a dry day.

I will say I drove the General's on wet roads many mornings, and they were pretty darn slippery feeling.

However, these AT tires really feel stable and secure and are not breaking loose nearly as easily, which is in fact a real advantage in my eyes.

On Edit: I hate these tires. I f*cked up. They ride like crap and look stupid.

I should have just leveled the truck and placed correctly sized tires on the truck so it didn't look dumb. Or just stuck with stock.

ON EDIT: Have spent more time on these tires and found that lowering the air pressure to the recommended settings made a large improvement in ride quality and noise. Every other tire, including my previous Nitto's, I've always ran about 44 psi because it makes a notable improvement in mpg.
But with these Recons it was making them vibrate and loud.
I do so wish I could buy a similar but slightly larger tire that was rated LT, instead of E-rated. But being on 22s there are very few options. Maybe when these tires wear out, I'll have some more options.

They do have stupendous traction compared to the stock tires however.

Mastercraft Courser Trail HD 275/65R20. First E rated tires I’ve had and I was pleasantly surprised with ride quality and noise. Love the looks of them. I took a pretty good hit on MPG’s on the interstate and town driving though 4-6 MPG loss. Normal highway of 55-62mph is a minimal MPG difference from what I’ve seen so far though. May end up selling these if anyone is interested and go back down to P rated 275/60R20. Haven’t posted them yet bc I need to get new pictures with a couple new forum rules in regards to pictures needing username and date in the picture.

JAG05, The same tires were recommended from Belle. I live in Illinois. How did they do in rain and snow this year? I have always had Cooper AT3 XLT. Being told these are made by Cooper. Also cant decide between 275/65/20 or 285/60/20. Thanks

Can’t speak to either just yet. Have less than 1000 miles on them. Only been in light/moderate rain and they were just fine…but a brand new tire obviously. Luckily the snow is over where I live. And yeah Mastercraft is made by Cooper. Send me a PM with your number/email and I’ll send you some more pics of my truck with the Mastercrafts. Should give you a good idea on how the 65s look. I do like the taller stance. But don’t think you could go wrong with either size, both look good and both require going to a heavier 10 ply/E rated so no benefit to one over the other. You could also look at the Cooper Rugged Trek.

No complaints so far. Relatively quiet in the cab, lost about 3-4mpg between the level and tires. Being in MN where we have ice and snow for what seems like most of the year, traction was the #1 priority, and they did not let me down.

Also, they are the perfect size. Big enough to look good, but not so big they rub everything, even when offroad and the suspension compresses.
