While I could have worded that better, that's not what I was implying. I do my best to keep my answers simple so that my responses don't prompt more questions than the answer people are looking for. Sometimes, less is more.

I agree that the non-sequential and non-systematic ways these updates are sent out can be very confusing.
Totally agree with that. I hate the OTA system and my comments reflect a distinct bias against it. It’s not just that it doesn’t do the best job of keeping trucks up to date in a timely manner, it’s also that the versioning system has no pattern and it makes drawing conclusions about how up to date you are a crapshoot. Every answer anyone can give comes with a caveat.

All the updates on that list will still be there except the APIM as that was addressed with 3.5.3.2. 3.5.4 is a TCU update that only appears once the APIM is updated, so 3.5.4 did not address any of the other updates on that list.

Would someone be so kind as to check mine to see what updates are available please?

It's at the dealer now for the PB heat exchanger and I figured while it's there I may as well have them run the updates.

Thanks.

This morning, I got in my truck, nothing seemed different, but once I had it running, I got a message on the center monitor saying "System Not Updated. Update could not complete. The system will try again with the next update."

My truck ( VIN 1FTFW1E88MKD32498 ) is still on 3.5.2.

So...does this mean that Ford tried another OTA update, and it failed (why, Ford, why?) and so now I'm thrown back into the waiting pool? Or will it try again today/tonight?

Any thoughts? thanks!

Pray to the OTA gods or get a Mongoose. lol

Those are modules that have pending updates.
And…are these updates all available as OTA (theoretically! I realize the vagueness of Ford’s OTA updating methods), or is this to the point of needing to go to the dealer?
Thanks!

They aren’t all available as an OTA and going to the dealer won’t help in most cases. Dealers can’t trigger an OTA and they ordinarily will not update a module just because it’s out of date. It has to be malfunctioning so they can bill an update as a repair.
