I FINALLY got my right headlamp working. There were no issues with the HCM to BCM harness, which I quickly learned after swapping it out and the headlamp still didn't work correctly. I ended up finding that the conversion harness had the two wires swapped and once I swapped those, everything worked perfectly (I won't get into all of the details of everything that I checked, but I even had a spare headlamp that also didn't work). Big thanks to @Jesse-Infotainment for the tips and even bigger thanks to @JHForman812 for teaching me electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting 101.

im having a similar issue with mine. I have everything conected and fordscan the parameters but I dont have swivel of the lights, only high and low beams. Not sure if is something of fordscan or that i have something wrong with the harness. Here are a few dtc that the truck is giving me.

Also if someone have the fordscan changes please send them to me, because I lost the instructions that came with the HCM module.

Thanks for any help

I can’t help here much as I haven’t tackled this yet.. I just got the headlights but haven’t bought a harness yet. I was wondering which harness you went with?

I originally got this harness and thought the wiring was incorrect looking at the pin out, but I assumed I just didn't know what in the hell I was doing because I have never wired up a connector before. But looking at the diagram vs the connector, and with the issue I am having, I think it may actually be wrong. There are wires in holes that are "NOT USED" and some others missing wires that probably should have them, for example, but pins 6 and 14 have a wire running to them

So I took out my multimeter on continuity mode and found that pin 15 on the driver side harness pictured goes to pin 13 on the hcm connector, which if I’m right in my thought process, that’s incorrect, it should be going to pin 7? This is the pin for the driver side bending motor, which is one of the DTCs I got.

Need to start witht he HCm to Headlamp wiring and verify they are in the correct positions.
Verify the HCM pins are correct to the Headlamp

The times people have had this there was a pin out of position. That DTC is related to the LIN bus not making it to the Headlamp

So you need to verify HCM pin 1 is going to LH Pin 5 and HCM Pin 6 is at RH pin 5

That I did do this morning. Those pins are correct. I’m noticing pin 7 on the hcm harness is empty. Is that incorrect?

Yeah.. That is the SHield. Its not populated on the Headlamp side.

The only other possiblity is the HCM did you buy it new or used? It may not be flashed

The hcm I bought with the harness and they both came from Ryan Broderick so it was flashed before I got my hands on it.

I’m thinking I’m going to take pin 13 from the hcm harness which tones out on the headlight harness for the motor pin and swap it to pin 7 on the hcm harness to see if that corrects the issue. Can’t hurt right?

Sorry I was getting confused. So pin 7 on the hcm connector is supposed to be the shield, right now it’s empty, is there a pin from the headlight connector that is supposed to go to that pin 7 and if so which one is it? I’m new to wiring diagrams so sorry if this is frustrating

Pin 7 is empty. It’s a shield. In the OEM harness it originated from pin 7 of the hcm but never terminated at the headlamp it is a true shield wire. Intended to eliminate noise interference on the linbus run

It won’t cause the issue you’re having by not having a shield.

Your issue is wiring and if you say you have confirmed the wiring is correct then it’s a firmware issue

Ok thanks that makes sense. It could be who knows. This is what I have for values in forscan for the hcm. I’m sure it’s different than what fdrs would say but this is what I’m rolling with for config
