Oh, hard dislike. I don‘t mind vertical screens, but I do mind when the screen sticks out from the dash.
Dash stick-out wouldn't be bad if it was oriented towards the driver, on the driver side. Flat dash designs make no sense. Frontal airbags suggest a minimum 12" clearance for proper operation, yet poor designs have drivers reaching to the passenger side. No controls should be placed in a manner where the driver has to lean over to utilize them. It's not a movie screen -- driver should be the focus of all control / display orientations.

i have both an F150 and Ram 1500. both units are equipped with the 12 inch screen. in my honest opinion i don’t hate on one or the other. they both definitely have their pros and cons but at the end of the day i’m a camper with either or Lol.
As you have both trucks, I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on both. If Ram had released the their Hurricane inline 6 twin turbo for '22, I could have ended up in a Ram...

Given the work on the lightning and expedition, curious if we're going to see an IRS for the F150. It's overdue.

If they do, I hope they make it an option like how GM let you decide if you wanted coils or leafs in the back of your 67-72 GM truck. I for one would prefer SRA.

I'm guessing this changes the infotainment get closer to the Lightning design. I don't think they will go backwards.
For sure they will be going this route to match the Lightning, and bigger/louder/faster is always better therefore people will pay a premium for this screen. But thus far I have seen very few vertical screens I think look good. Too many of them resemble the Tesla look of just slapping an ipad in place.
The way Ford is going it will be 2 years before the 2024's hit the street anyway.
Haha, thats optimistic

If you want a better idea of how this is going to look, check out the interior of an expedition.

5.0 Coyote and 5.7 Hemi are what i have. Both engines are great in my opinion. i don’t believe in force inducted engines unless we’re talking about a high performance vehicle then that’s a whole nother story.

When they first introduced the ecoboost into trucks I was convinced Ford was being blasphemous. When I was searching for a truck in August, I found myself skipping all of the 5.0 motors when I saw them.

AFTER joining this forum, I could now see myself owning either a 5.0 or 3.5EB, because of members like you showing how awesome they still are.

It's just interesting how opinions change over time. I DO still prefer the 3.5, but wouldn't have an issue owning a 5.0 either

I'm not a fan of the vertical setup either.

What about the rest of the trucks? How do they compare? Interiors, ride, features etc... If you could only have one, which would it be?

What exactly yells "vertical" here? Looks like the same screen to me.
On second glance, I think I agree.

If this is the base menu on the current screen, as it looks to be, then it's about even with the steering column center like it is on the current trucks. Red lines applied for perspective.

Also note the relative hand size in the images.

I don't think this is evidence of a longer screen without seeing an image that is pointed lower in the truck.

Ive had 3 Ram 1500's, 4th Gens tho, and this 2021 F150.
To me, I miss my Ram(s). I think even with the 8.4 screen in the Ram, the interior and ride was better on the Ram.
Love my F150, but sure miss my Rams

@hotrodmex I don't disagree, but the screen cover on the dash suggests that they are hiding something.

Stay far away from these shitty climate control integrated screens. Same exact on-screen nonsense that's in the MME. NO THANK YOU
Yes, I hate my MME controls. I miss tactile buttons.
