Agreed. Too much hype on the temp dials. I like it on the screen, which is eye level. JMO.
Ain’t America great?!!

See.. I TOTALLY disagree with you.

I think the temp display on my knobs is great. Especially when I ask my truck (Hello Ford) to change the temp while I have my screen populated with my rear camera or Audio info.

Is it a “big deal”? …of course not!

But it IS a classy feature that sets my 2021 F150 apart from the rest.

I like the temps being on the top bar on the sync screen, easy to see and find.

The previous generation trucks had the temps on the sync screen also. So nothing change for me when going from a MY18 to MY22. Never had it, don't miss it. Plus I don't change temps all that often.

The knob temps displays came in very handy when my 2021’s screen was broke for 4 months while waiting for backlog parts. It was the only way to tell and adjust temperature settings. Would have been miserable on our road-trips besides no radio, nav, cameras, etc.
Glad I have those beautiful little readouts!

To each their own I suppose

my 2020 explorer has the digital temp readouts on the hvac module and not on the sync screen, my 22 F150 is the opposite. I personally prefer the readout on the temp dials
Me too. My 22 did not have them but I found a set brand new in box on eBay for well under $200. Now my truck does have them. ?

You'd have to go back to the horrors of the 1980s, when people adjusted the temperature based upon whether they felt hot or cold? ;)

How long ago? I'm only interested for the novelty, but not at the current $300-350 going rate; I'd probably pick one up for $200.

EDIT: Forgot it also depends on the features; the model I need seems to be in short supply.

I paid $340 for the one that I have, but it has all buttons, even the heated steering wheel, which I plan to install on mine soon. The lower trim HVAC modules can be found for around $200 with the digital temp read out

Yeah I’d love to have the hard button for the wheel but I’m not going to add AC seats so I don’t want those buttons. Once I get the heated wheel in I’ll just add it to the center screen as a soft button.

I probably wouldn't add the hard button for the heated wheel either just to have dead vent seat buttons on there. Plus, I think with the unreal update you can actually have the soft button for the heated wheel without having to make the F150 believe it has an SD sync system

I recall having an '03 Mercury Grand Marquis LSE that had temp and fan speed setting on the steering wheel. Not sure why they stopped doping that. I thought it was a handy feature.
Not enough room for all the buttons nowadays maybe?
