For clarification..

2021 Job1, with zero Forscan editing, FDRS updates enabled cameras at speed with bed and hitch view available full screen, and bed view available as a side card.

The 2022 arrived with exactly those features.

This IPC update completed and still at 22087 and no more APIM update showing so I'm guessing I'll have one show up tomorrow ?‍♂
My GWM was a pain to get updated. It kept failing during the configuration step. Just before I was about to give up, I gave it one last try and it completed. I didn’t think to check the next day to see if there were any additional updates. Pretty sure I’ll have that IPC waiting for me now. But I’m going to wait until all of us 8” cluster guys are getting the Alexa update.

I did get a chance to look and no backup cam in motion. I guess the update was only for cargo cam in motion. Sucks because I could run backup cam in motion in my 1500.

Double confirming this, once I got BC going I had cameras in motion without any Forscan changes.

Sometimes they do. Fords servers have been all over the place.. Very unstable lately.
That makes sense. I was hitting ok but didn't notice any changes after restarting my truck so I thought it just hadn't worked. I didn't know they took a little while to take effect. It's all working now after letting it sit overnight. I really appreciate all of your help! You're the man!
Good. Apim changes can take a reboot to take affect and sometimes it just takes time. Glad they are working

Everyone want's to be in the cool kids club and doing the updates whether it's Ford Tech or the DIY guy.
If Ford put as much time and investment on the Servers as they did with OTA's, we're in for a bumpy ride.

Needing some advice. Amazon is delivering my mongoose today and I already have the FDRS installed and running on my laptop with a 30 day subscription. My plan is to do the bulk and big updates that need battery power supply on Sunday. I was thinking i could knock out some the smaller SW updates between then and now.

So my question to those who have the experience what are some of the smaller updates that I can safely run without the battery charger hooked up? Thinking I will do a few each night and and finish up on Sunday with the bigger ones when I have all day.

Here are my current pending updates. Truck is a job one PB Lariat 802A that is currently at power up 2.3.0

.

Ps: Since I have a 30 day FDRS sub I can help with vin lookups.

If you make the changes in Forscan, you can see more than the bed camera. I can see hitch view, rear view, and bed after making the changes suggested by Jesse-Infotainment.
How much does it cost to get going with forscan?

Finally got Blue Cruise enabled! Currently on 22095 rev 421, 2021 Job1 truck.

I should send Ford an invoice for time and materials! Bought a 2 day license Sunday 5/1 then Ford has server outages... expired overnight so this morning bought another 30 day license since I didn't really know how long it was going to take. But seems only a few more hours.

Anyway I talked to FDRS customer service about a possible refund for the 2 day license They sent me the link to a form for refund request, anyone tried this and was successful?

If you look back through my posts in this thread, I have two posts I made after updating that showed what modules are tied together and which aren't. Anything that's chained together (CMR, CCM, IPMA as an example), I'd avoid. If you do decide to to this without a charger/power supply, keep a VERY close eye on the voltage and make sure it stays >12VDC, preferably >12.5VDC.

I noticed that dealer when making an update to the modules they don't hook up a battery charger.
When they start updating process they start the engine and the technician guy said that it ok to do it this way!
Is it a safe process?
He update the GWM,TRM and ABS in the same way.

It's free. You can get a free 2 month trial from the website. I used the Mongoose that I used for FDRS and it worked great.
I don't think ForScan offers a free trials anymore for new users.

ForScan Devs changed the licensing a few weeks ago. Now users have to pay for a licence just to access the forums. After purchase new users are provided with an invitation code to access the forums and register their account. Considering the trial licence generator is embedded in the forums, new users can't access the trial generator anymore.

I paid for a 3 year ForScan license so I can't see if trial licences are completely gone or if they just restructured them.

The Devs can now process international payments again. I don't know how they were able to work around global sanctions but it's best not to ask those questions. For now they're back up and running.

Their costs have understandably increased, but I recommend anyone who has ForScan set to expire soon to renew now because nobody knows how long they'll be up for

Russia could switch off their servers tomorrow if someone is dumb enough to post political discussions on a vehicle forum. The admins are quick to delete anything about the war to continue to stay operational.

I happily paid for a lifetime subscription
The Forscan community is worth FAR more than that small expense was at the time.
