What is everyone ordering or planning to put on their single cabs?

I ordered a single cab 4x4 short bed in race red with 301a and adaptive cruise.

Back in the day I had a 2003 lightning and that was the easiest truck to get in and out of that I've ever owned because it was lowered and two wheel drive.

I've been tossing around the idea of lowering this one just because I'm not getting any younger and it would be nice to get in and out easier. I don't plan on going four wheeling and when it snows a lot I stay home.

I wonder if lowering will mess with the electronics like the adaptive cruise and the other stuff it has?

Anybody lowered one with those options? Did it cause issues with the blis or anything? I don't want to slam it to the ground or anything like that. I see 3,5's I'm thinking just 2 and 4 keeping the correct rake on it.

Went for the XL 101a 5.0L 2wd w/o chrome pkg, I already have a set of 20" sport wheels. I knew I would have to color match either way and it makes it easier to vinyl wrap. I just plan on tint, line-x liner, Ford drop shackles in the rear and I'll be good to go. I did the flip kit with my 19' and the ride wasn't great even with adj shocks so I won't be going that route again.

Are you talking about vinyl wrap the whole truck or just the bumpers?

The single cab makes for an amazing little "hot rod" if you go that route.

The options are VERY limited though but the way people are talking about the 5.0 tossing around their "extra cab & 4-doors" I have to imagine that a properly outfitted RCSB with the coyote has to just be a squirrelly little monster!

"I" however am going Off Road with mine.

I'm looking forward to that 122" wheelbase, lifted ONLY enough to get some good tread under it. Keeping that center of gravity as low as possible.

FORD is AWESOME!

I haven't tried my long bed without traction control yet, but so far with the traction control on, there's absolutely zero squirrelliness. The traction control is good at preventing wheel spin from a stop but it's very overzealous at speed and could be a little more transparent. I have a turn in my neighborhood that is uphill and goes from off camber to on camber, you can take it enthusiastically in most cars without the traction control intervening in any perceivable way. The first time I took it with my F150, the truck felt like it just stopped as the throttle was completely cut, I didn't get sideways at all and it kind of worries me if I need to make an emergency maneuver and the truck just cuts the throttle completely like that again.

They still make these?
So far they are completely unavailable from Toyota and Nissan in the US, no midsize trucks are available from Chevy or Ford, even though Ranger comes in regular cab in some foreign markets.

I think only Ford still offers regular cab short beds and Dodge has a long bed regular cab. With Chevy threatening to bring back their shortbed reg. cab.

Both chevy and gmc have a single cab on their build and prices. Long beds though.

I like the wheels on your HD. Ever decide to put something different on keep me in mind. Are those on any different models so I can troll fleabay for take offs?

I think most people are looking for a multi-purpose vehicle and for the price, I guess you kind of have to.

I have an SUV for when I need to load up passengers for a trip.

I have a 2-seater sports car (and a motorcycle) for when I want dart around the roads and have fun.

I need a Four Wheel Drive that can handle going off road in forested, muddy, rutted, mountainous terrane with enough power and traction to haul a trailer full of gear. The fact that I can buy one with all (okay, MOST of) the latest technology and comfort is pretty damn cool!

I doubt that there are many people with that specific "need" so I "get" why all the other manufacturers quit building short wheelbase trucks.

THANK GOD FOR FORD!

FORD is AWESOME!

Hey Pedaldude, or anyone with the single cab xlt. How many speakers are in the truck?

Crutchfield says four but I think they are counting the tweeters in the a-pillars as two and then one in each door.

No more speakers behind the seats in the sides?

I think I even read somewhere that there is five. How about some real world confirmation?

And I thought the ford build and price was confusing. I couldn't get the color I wanted with chrome bumpers I guess. It kept removing items when I made certain selections. I did like the anti spin rear though. Didn't say it was electronic so maybe it was old school which I would have liked.
Ended up $42000 and change but I don't know if it had a blind spot monitor and couldn't find adaptive cruise. Then the site quit responding. Too many ford guys looking?

I have a 5.0 RCSB 4x4, lowered with a 3/5 drop. I have had 0 issues. Blis and everything work as they should, the only thing I did was adjust my headlights.

Sharp looking truck. What wheels are those? That's probably a really good height for getting in and out of isn't it? I see pictures of different color trucks and how good they look and it makes me second guess my race red choice.
