FWIW the 2027 Silverado with the new v8 is the truck that may pry me out of this f150.
that would scare the bejesus out of me, they cant make the V8's now they have been making for years...much less, a "new" version.

One thing for sure is Ram truck dealerships don't even have a service department anymore. They have finally eliminated any issues with their trucks.

Head over to their forums and read for yourself.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Sucks to get a Powerboost with multiple issues. Especially considering the current quality of warranty service. But there are lots of us driving the same exact truck and having a very different experience. And having had 2 of them (personal/work) for a combined 8 years combined, and only 1 visit to a dealership.

Same could be true for 2 Rams, admittedly. But there's no guarantee that you would get a Ram that wouldn't need warranty work.

The problem with the lemmon law is, the dealer is the one who decides if its an issue or not. I've brought my truck in multiple times for rough shifting, they don't think its an issue. But if i drive another PB, shifts smooth. And my opinion vs the dealers opinion of a rough driving truck is not a "serious issue" which is what the lemon law says it should be.

Same thing with the vibration at 80+mph. Dealer says its "normal" and they have balanced and road forced multiple times.

Lemmon law and the dealers is a joke. the only way out is for the customer to trade in and take the hit.

Try taking it to another dealer. There are plenty of accounts on here of people getting their trucks worked on for rough shifting, meaning the dealer considered it an issue.

They all have their issues, pick your poison. I think the RAMs have the most potential. Early on they were having misfires with the Hurricane 3.0 but I think they figured this out for the most part. The biggest complaint I hear about now is UConnect related, Bluetooth randomly disconnects which would drive me crazy on long drives. As for the transmission their 8 speeds are very smooth.

GMs like to eat lifters and main bearings.... not to mention the 10R issues GM and Ford owners share.

Tundra has a main bearing design issue but it looks like they updated this recently, hopefully they fixed it. Similar to the Ford, the Tundra interior just feels cheap and to much plastic.

i hope they get your truck sorted and you can enjoy it.

I think they large screen has issues, and has since 2019ish on the Ram. The 8.4's I had were amazing. Just too much going on with the big screens. Visually appealing...but...
Now if Ford had their 8 speed, glorious!

Do a reset on the trans shift tables. Let it relearn how you would like it to shift. That often resolves shift issues. Unless of course the problem is it has learned how you tell it to shift even though you don't like the result.

My F-150 is the best truck I've ever owned.

Sounds like you got a lemon and work with a shitty dealer.

Lemon it and get a non Powerboost.

Stellantis makes pure garbage.

I can't trust the GM V8s anymore.

Tundras are having so many problems.
My sentiments exactly

I can appreciate your question. No doubt the having any issues with a new truck, especially being as expensive as our trucks are is frustrating.

Aside from 3 issues with the 2 Gen 14's I've had, they've been good trucks.

the 21 3.5 eco truck had the vibration at highway speeds, which sounds similar to your issue. after a little homework on this forum, I took it to the dealer, took the mechanic for a ride along and he agreed the tires needed to be rebalanced. they were rebalanced and vibration went away.

the 24 pb i have now has been good. I had a failed gsm and now im dealing with a torque converter, but im sticking with it. Im confident that once the torque converter is addressed, it'll be smooth sailing. for me, id rather stick with what I have, get the repairs done and know what I have rather than rolling the dice and starting over.

best of luck with your decision.

I have a 24 PB. Ever since I’ve owned it it’s been in the shop every month.

had an issue with the the air vent not opening or closing correctly the day I drove it off the lot. Took 3 months for the dealer to fix

I have an issue when driving 80+mph the whole truck shakes slightly.

The transmission drives rough. It’s a slightly hard shift. It’s not smooth shifting power.

pro power onboard generator has been replaced.

Now it has a coolant leak.

Why would I keep this truck and spend my life with it at the shop? Would anyone recommend a ram?
How many miles are on your truck?

Have a 23 Silverado now with the turbo max engine the 4 cylinder.Truck had 5k miles on it and the turn signal switch had to get replace it was flopping all over something broke in it.At about 7k miles the radio want out in it and couldn’t do anything with it just a blank screen.I kept shutting the truck off trying to reset it and nothing lol.Had to wait a week before the dealer could look at it and said everything is fine just needed an update.Bring it home the following and the following week same thing. Back to the dealer they updated it again. The I decide to check the oil I was about 2k miles after an oil change and it didn’t even read on dipstick.Go to the auto store bought 2 quarts and put them in and it started to read on the dipstick.Had to go get another quart and add half of that to get it in range.I guess I should of read the owners manual because it says to check your oil every 1k miles and it is normal to use between 1 to 1-1/2 quarts between oil changes or something like that.So my lease is up next year and definitely getting another F150.
