Why is Ford pushing BAP?

Could someone provide insights into why Ford is focusing on the black appearance package? Is there a financial incentive for Ford to promote the BAP, or is this trend driven by consumer demand? If consumer preferences are the driving force, what explains the high demand for this option?

I think it depends on the trim, BAP for an STX is a total waste depending on color. My STX was in Area 51 blue which means blackout headlights, black F-150 label, magnetic grey wheels. The BAP package only adds a black ford logo. That’s literally it. Total waste, so I just did the STX package and no BAP.

Now on an XLT they come with a lot of chrome so it’s likely worth it there. My Non-BAP STX below. From all views it would look the exact same with BAP sans a slight change in the wheel…

It's customer driven. I personally have been doing the black themed stuff for over 20 years. My truck before this was an GMC Elevation...also with black package but it has become too damn trendy...

A good vinyl job could pull it off.
I did see a newer Chevy with a classic style paint job I thought was well done. The Ford heritage package just isn't the same as the old Ford style.

I LOVE two tone despite having a monochromatic truck. The King Ranch and two-tone Lariats are very well appointed and a beautiful package.

I'm with ya, a fellow member @Ajzride did that and I went to follow suit, but the local tint\wrap shops want like $3000 grand so mine is still a solid AMB....

Ford discovered that they could charge more for something that costs less. Why wouldn’t they be happy to sell it?

Plus, it's oversold so it is holding up the scheduling for those of us that have ordered it on our 2024's...

Ford has never made many BAP trucks. Most you seen are retail orders. I don’t think they are “pushing” it that hard.

I love blacked out trucks but I also love chromed out trucks. My dad was a huge influence.

When he saw my azure black with chrome package truck, he said "Now that's what a nice truck should look like." Cliche as it sounds, in many ways I'm a chip off the ol block.

When I ordered my 2022 Lariat I wanted the sport package to take out the chrome with a painted bumper and mirrors. However, that made you get the 2 tone (with red) interior. Since I was ordering Blue exterior I did not want the red additions inside and had to get the BAP to eliminate that red color.

I do love the black Ford logo and the black LED projector headlights.

They are pushing black out because they lost their plastic chrome plating source a couple of years ago (epa shutdown). They probably can't get higher production #'s. Plus, yep it's cheaper. That's my theory.
