They still don’t have a remedy for the axle situation, it’s replace parts if bolt is broken. It’s more like an inspection and replace if needed.

Sometimes you just need to escalate a concern. Take this to the General Manager and if that doesn't yield any results, contact Ford customer service. At the very least I would want an explanation of why the mechanic had dirty gloves on while in my truck and why he disconnected the dash cam.

I did that, he had a dont give a shit attitude.

here is my 2 cents.. was the dash cam oem ford.. or factory installed... if not the techs will not connect after market stuff.. i know this from experience.. we connect into a lot of stuff on f550 chassis that we modify.. if we have to send a truck into service and they need to remove it for what ever service they are doing... they will not hook it up.. even as simple as a plug.. we had a truck that need a new motor.. they cut every wire we installed.. it sucks but its what we deal with all the time.

I understand what you are saying but...........................I think the OP is upset that he disconnected the camera when there was no reason to. He went in for a fuel pump warranty and messed with his camera for no good reason.

If there was a good reason that would be all they would need to say.

I wouldn't do anything.....

I'd suggest it was disconnected so there isn't a record of it being driven in a manner to diagnose the fuel pump operation that an owner (not suggesting you) might not like or as noted above removing external connections so as not to interfere with any diagnostics / consequences of work being done affecting external equipment.... or in other words CYA....

But that can also come in various guises.... I had a very high performance sedan go in for new tires and a wheel alignment once and came back with the trip computer mileage and all fuel consumption trips reset.... so I KNOW what kind of test drive it got for the alignment....

Now, if on the other hand you found there was excessive mileage then I would be asking some questions.... otherwise wouldn't worry about it...

PS... love Soldotna... stayed in a lovely cabin a couple of years ago while exploring there... gorgeous place....

Ford has a new axle design out that uses a reverse threaded nut instead of the crappy bolt. This has been available for 4-5 months. Main issue is they didn't supply enough parts to cover the recall so it's on back order now.

I agree that he may have been able to legally avoid being filmed. I also agree that it may have interfered with any electrical diagnostics.

None of that excuses having dirty gloves on, inside the cab.

Ford hasn’t released a fix for the fuel pump recall which is why nothing was done.

Did you have other work done? I’d have a gripe about the tech unplugging the dash cam and wearing greasy gloves while doing so. Did you mention this to your service advisor and ask for an explanation?

Ford has the remedy. Mine were replaced with the new design last week.

I mean this with all due respect. I think you should get over yourself and this non issue. Who wants to be on camera at the shop. So he unplugged it and you had to plug it back in. So much anger everywhere and here in this thread. Move on with it already and enjoy your ride. Good luck with your truck.

Ford has the remedy. Mine were replaced with the new design last week.
I was wrong. Glad they got it fixed finally. 👍 appreciate the information.
